Nearly every room of this lovely Noe Valley home had been thoughtfully expanded and remodeled through its 120 years, short of the kitchen.
Through this kitchen remodel, our clients wanted to remove the barrier between the kitchen and the family room and increase usability and storage for their growing family.
DESIGN SOLUTION
The kitchen design included modification to a load-bearing wall, which allowed for the seamless integration of the family room into the kitchen and the addition of seating at the peninsula.
The kitchen layout changed considerably by incorporating the classic “triangle” (sink, range, and refrigerator), allowing for more efficient use of space.
The unique and wonderful use of color in this kitchen makes it a classic – form, and function that will be fashionable for generations to come.
Imperfect InteriorsThis large family home in Brockley had incredible proportions & beautiful period details, which the owners lovingly restored and which we used as the focus of the redecoration. A mix of muted colours & traditional shapes contrast with bolder deep blues, black, mid-century furniture & contemporary patterns.

Siding & Windows Group LtdRemoved old Brick and Vinyl Siding to install Insulation, Wrap, James Hardie Siding (Cedarmill) in Iron Gray and Hardie Trim in Arctic White, Installed Simpson Entry Door, Garage Doors, ClimateGuard Ultraview Vinyl Windows, Gutters and GAF Timberline HD Shingles in Charcoal. Also, Soffit & Fascia with Decorative Corner Brackets on Front Elevation. Installed new Canopy, Stairs, Rails and Columns and new Back Deck with Cedar.
WALAParquet flooring in a herringbone arrangement is finished in a Black Japan stain. Pops of colour are introduced to the entry hallway via an ABALL pendant and the 'Dita Double Console' in yellow.
