2 enjeux : le premier était de créer un petit coin salon dans cette grande chambre. J’ai donc proposé à mes clients de créer un élément central qui fait office de tête de lit d’un côté, et armoire-dressing de l’autre. Cet élément sur-mesure créé donc naturellement une séparation dans la pièce. L’entrée de la chambre devient donc un espace boudoir agrémenté de 2 fauteuils de chez Ditre Italia et un tapis Christian Lacroix. L’ancien placard est réaménagé et devient un coin café.
L’autre enjeu était d’apporter une ambiance colorée et authentique dans l’esprit Mexicain, Amérique du Nord. J’ai donc proposé à mes clients un panoramique de chez Le Grand Siècle qui apporte, à lui seul, couleurs, profondeur et dynamisme à l’espace. Edité en 1818, ce papier peint panoramique a été fabriqué par la Manufacture Dufour. Il s'inspire librement du livre de Marmontel "Les Incas ou la destruction de l'Empire du Pérou" relatant la conquête du Pérou par Pizarro en 1532 qui soulignait la tolérance et l'innocence des Indiens face à la cruauté des conquistadors espagnols. Le décor d’origine a été imprimé en 83 couleurs (dont 42 pour les figures) à l'aide de 2112 planches de bois gravées.

Delaney Window Fashions LLCWhen the client spoke with the Delaney Window Fashions LLC workroom designer about the creation of a unique, Hawaiian-themed child’s bedroom, the bright pink and orange paint was already in place, along with the hibiscus floral fabric border. The impetus for the additional work was the transition from a baby’s room with a crib to a little girl’s room with a full-size bed. Although the room was started, it was far from complete.
With a limited amount of the client’s floral fabric, which had subsequently been discontinued, the designer created bedding and pillows and constructed a Hawaiian-themed bed canopy with lights. The homeowner wanted the bedding to be washable but not quilted and the bed crown to be light weight. A tailored, center-pleat bed skirt was created first. The remaining fabric, along with an accent fabric was used to create a comforter, envelope and bolster pillows. The comforter was created with two mitered corners; and micro-cording was purposely added around the middle section to hide the seam.The middle section was hand tacked to secure comforter layers for laundering.
To finish the bedding, a tiki hut-inspired bed crown was created, which was challenging because the material had to be light weight. Including LED garland added a
fun and whimsical element. With child safety in mind, shirred tulle panels were attached to the back and sides of the crown. In this way, the lights were visible, but not accessible to the child.
The project was a success, and the client loves the room. The child’s lighted tiki hut bed crown provided a cozy environment for nightly bedtime stories. It made for one happy little girl!

Seriously DesignedThis is the main living area which looks out over the pool and garden beyond. The sofa which was also custom made measures 5.8 meters long, enough comfortable seating for 12 people, it is covered in Sunbrella fabric which is an outdoor fabric. The covers come off and can go into the washing machine and the fabric is sun-resistant which was essential as the morning sun floods this room. The coffee and console tables are made out of teak wood which have been oiled to keep the natural color, the lamps in the distance are also pieces designed by Ross J M Peat for this space. The 3 panels on the wall to the left are antique hand carved wooded decorative pieces from original Javanese houses called Joglo's, they have been mounted in nice frames and hung together to form this beautiful piece. The glass pieces are from an Japanese glass artist, Sake, the house has several of his pieces.
Saint Dizier DesignOne of the two guesthouse bedrooms features an East Indies style mahogany canopy bed, draped with sheer linen. Hand-made Tibetan area rugs add softness and color.
