The last installment of our Summer Porch Series is actually my own Screened Porch. My husband Tom and I love this outdoor space, and I have designed it like I would any other room in my home. When we purchased our home, it was just a covered porch. We added the screens, and it has been worth every penny. A couple of years ago, we even added a television out here so we could watch our beloved Bulldogs play football. We brought the all-weather wicker furniture from our previous home, but I recently had the cushions recovered in outdoor fabrics of blues and greens. This extends the color palette from my newly redesigned Den into this space. I added colorful accessories like an oversized green ceramic lamp, and navy jute poufs serve as my coffee table. I even added artwork to fill the large wall over a console. Of course, I let nature be the best accessory and filled pots and hanging baskets with pet friendly plants. We love our Screened Porch and utilize it as a third living space in our home. We hope you have enjoyed our Summer Porch Series and are inspired to redesign your outdoor spaces. Come arredare patio e portico

Il patio e il portico sono due ambienti esterni ideali dove rilassarsi, intrattenere gli ospiti o semplicemente godersi le belle giornate. Patii e portici possono essere considerati una sorta di estensione all’esterno della zona giorno, pertanto quando si desidera arredare e decorare questi spazi, bisogna farlo tendendo in mente comodità e praticità. Storicamente, il patio è un cortile interno caratteristico delle case spagnole e sudamericane. Nel tempo, tuttavia, il significato si è esteso assumendo l’accezione proveniente dall’uso americano che con patio intende uno spazio ricreativo esterno pavimentato annesso all’abitazione e/o al giardino. Quando si decide di allestire un patio è importante optare per materiali durevoli e resistenti agli agenti atmosferici che riflettono lo stile complessivo della casa. La scelta dei materiali per la pavimentazione dei patii spazia dal calcestruzzo stampato alle piastrelle in ceramica e dal gres porcellanato alle pedane in legno. Puoi optare per una tenda da sole, una pergola, una tettoia o un gazebo. Se invece preferisci una soluzione meno impegnativa - anche dal punto di vista di richiesta di permessi - puoi prediligere gli ombrelloni da giardino.

Idee per vivere il portico

Per creare un’atmosfera calda e accogliente anche la sera, puoi aggiungere al tuo portico un braciere o focolare da giardino oppure un camino per esterno. Quest’ultimo non solo è adatto a riscaldare l’ambiente ma offre anche la possibilità di cucinare alla brace.

Come decorare e arredare un patio

Gli arredi per il tuo patio devono innanzitutto essere resistenti alle condizioni climatiche. Tuttavia, ciò non significa che tu non possa ricreare un feeling da salotto con tanto di tappeti e cuscini anche all’esterno: oggigiorno questi - così come le poltrone, i divani e i tavolini - sono disponibili in vari materiali impermeabili e in tanti stili diversi. Per creare un’atmosfera suggestiva anche di sera, puoi installare dei faretti da terra oppure ricorrere a lanterne o ghirlande di luci aggiungendo qua e là qualche candela antizanzare per trascorrere delle belle serate all’aperto senza essere infastidito.

Come arredare un portico

Il portico è un classico elemento delle case in stile vittoriano o in quello coloniale americano, uno spazio particolare che di solito si trova sulla parte anteriore della casa. Come i patii, il portico è il posto ideale dove trascorrere piacevoli momenti, ad esempio leggendo un buon libro seduti in una comoda poltrona o in una nostalgica sedia a dondolo oppure sorseggiando una bibita fresca in compagnia facendo due chiacchiere. Oltre a delle comode sedute e dei tavolini, in vimini o ferro battuto, puoi collocare sul tuo portico piante e fiori, magari appese al soffitto per dare un look romantico a questo spazio. Per rifinire e personalizzare il tuo portico, appendi dei complementi in terracotta o in ferro battuto alle pareti e aggiungi qualche ghirlanda di luce. Il portico diventerà così il tuo nuovo ambiente preferito della casa.
