Roland Oehme Landscape ArchitectureThis is an urban single family home situated on a narrow lot that is about 1/8 of an acre and is only 2 blocks from the Pacific Ocean. I designed a completely new garden and installed everything along with the client’s help. The garden I designed consisted of an ornamental grass garden, a xeriscape garden with decomposed granite mounds, fruit trees and shrubs located throughout, a jungle forest garden, and raised brick vegetable beds in the rear. Previously, there was a wood deck covering almost the entire property that was removed by the owner. We installed root guard around all of the walkways. I installed the raised brick vegetable beds and walkways around the vegetable beds. Many of the plants were chosen to provide food and habitat for pollinators as well. Dozens of fruiting plants were located in the garden. So, it is called the “Garden of Eatin”.

Justine DewitteLe jardin a été conçu pour Les Comptoirs Richard, il est situé au siège de l'entreprise. Elle est fondée à Paris en 1892, son siège est situé dans l'ancienne petite manufacture de café, ancien domicile de l’entreprise familiale.
Afin de concevoir le petit jardin attenant à la maison et à la boutique des Comptoirs Richard, il faut comprendre l'histoire du lieu : après s’être fait un nom dans la négoce de vins et de spiritueux, la Maison Richard a développé ensuite son savoir-faire autour du café, elle continue son expansion dans la vente de thé et de tisanes. La maison, devenue le siège de l'entreprise, s'ouvre sur ce petit coin de verdure en plein cœur de Paris.
Le jardin de 200m² est découpé en deux espaces; le premier accueille une terrasse aménagée de pots en terre cuite faits main, des "Atelier Vierkant", en lien avec les espaces de repos et de restauration de l'entreprise. Le second est constitué de jardinières en plessis de bois de châtaigniers, plantées d'aromatiques.
Ces aromatiques ont été sélectionnées, en collaboration avec Les Comptoirs Richard, et sont cultivées puis séchées afin de créer des petits sachets de tisanes, afin d'être offerts aux clients privilégiés.

SCJ Studio Landscape ArchitectureIn south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. Angles create drama and direct flow to the steel stairs and gate.

We succeeded in providing an aesthetically pleasing garden that produced enough for this small family, by using the space she had effectively. Living Gardens Landscape DesignOur homeowners were looking for a garden where they could sit by the fire, grow vegetable and hear the sound of water. Their home was new construction in a modern farmhouse style. We used gravel and concrete as paving. Board formed concrete firepit keeps it feeling modern. The vegetable beds supply season vegetables and herbs.
Yorkshire GardensNestled within the Pennines, it’s hard to believe this idyllic country garden was once a public toilet. Demolished a few years ago, the land had been left neglected and was in serious need of refurbishment.
We were asked to create a contemporary cottage garden, which was still in keeping with the rustic, rural architecture surrounding.
We achieved this by adopting a heritage colour scheme. Foxgloves, allium and delphinium add subtle splashes of purple to the luscious flower borders.
The stone patio and paths compliment the traditional oak decking and raised vegetables beds, while also adding texture. The addition of bright pots and painted lattice fence enhance this vibrant space as well as making interesting features.
This once disused plot has now been transformed into a tranquil garden, which is modern yet perfectly harmonising with the surrounding cottages.
