Rooftopia, LLCThis cozy sanctuary has been transformed from a drab sun-blasted deck into an inspirational home-above-home get away! Our clients work and relax out here on the daily, and when entertaining is cool again, they plan to host friends in their beautiful new space. The old deck was removed, the roof was repaired and new paver flooring, railings, a pergola and gorgeous garden furnishings & features were installed to create a one of a kind urban escape.

A stationary glass panel keeps the water in and eliminates the need for a door. Mother of pearl tile on the long wall with a recessed niche creates a soft focal wall.

Dig Your Garden Landscape DesignAPLD 2022 Award Winning Landscape Design. We designed and installed this dramatic living wall / vertical garden to add a welcoming focal point, and a great way to add living beauty to the large front house wall. The wall includes a variety of succulents, grass-like and cascading plants some with flowers, (some with flowers, Oxalis, Heuchera designed to provide long cascading "waves" with appealing textures and colors. The dated walkway was updated with large geometric concrete pavers with polished black pebbles in between, and a new concrete driveway. Water-wise grasses flowering plants and succulents replace the lawn. This updated modern renovation for this mid-century modern home includes a new garage and front entrance door and modern garden light fixtures. Prassas Landscape Studio LLCThe rear of this Central Street Neighborhood yard floods regularly during heavy rains. Rather than fight mother nature, Prassas Landscape Studio created a rain garden to store excess stormwater until it can percolate into the soil. The rain garden is also fed by the roof’s runoff and basement’s sump pump through a contemporary steel runnel. Stone steppers penetrate a curved wall to lead to the back firepit seating area. The upper terrace stairs were modernized and the lower terrace was reconfigured.

Transitions Kitchens and BathsThis modern kitchen design in Hingham is sure to be the bright spot in the center of this home. Mouser Cabinetry sets the tone for this design with white beaded inset perimeter cabinets, which is contrasted by a dark wood finish kitchen island with a built in microwave. Both cabinets are Centra Square Inset Reno door style, complemented by Emtek satin nickel Alexander Pulls and Norwich Knobs. A white with gray veining countertop from Boston Bluestone is an ideal counterpart to the cabinetry along with a Highland Park Dove Grey 3 x 6 glass tile backsplash. The large Kohler Vault farmhouse sink sits under a bright window, paired with a Blanco Culina Chrome faucet. The island includes an Elkay single bowl sink, with the two sinks creating a perfect zone for food preparation and clean up including space for more than one person to work. Cooking will be a breeze in this kitchen with a large Wolf oven, along with a Blanco Cantata chrome pot filler faucet. A custom hutch adds storage and style with the central cabinet doors in a black frame with glass front doors to contrast the white cabinetry. In cabinet lighting spotlights these striking cabinets and adds space to display favorite items. The bright kitchen includes ample natural light plus dramatic Feiss Kenney Collection light fixtures with two above island and one above the table. This stunning kitchen design offers ample space for cooking, dining, and entertaining, and is connected to an adjacent living area with a custom bar.
Studio AgeliFrom the very first site visit the vision has been to capture the magnificent view and find ways to frame, surprise and combine it with movement through the building. This has been achieved in a Picturesque way by tantalising and choreographing the viewer’s experience.
The public-facing facade is muted with simple rendered panels, large overhanging roofs and a single point of entry, taking inspiration from Katsura Palace in Kyoto, Japan. Upon entering the cavernous and womb-like space the eye is drawn to a framed view of the Indian Ocean while the stair draws one down into the main house. Below, the panoramic vista opens up, book-ended by granitic cliffs, capped with lush tropical forests.
At the lower living level, the boundary between interior and veranda blur and the infinity pool seemingly flows into the ocean. Behind the stair, half a level up, the private sleeping quarters are concealed from view. Upstairs at entrance level, is a guest bedroom with en-suite bathroom, laundry, storage room and double garage. In addition, the family play-room on this level enjoys superb views in all directions towards the ocean and back into the house via an internal window.
In contrast, the annex is on one level, though it retains all the charm and rigour of its bigger sibling.
Internally, the colour and material scheme is minimalist with painted concrete and render forming the backdrop to the occasional, understated touches of steel, timber panelling and terrazzo. Externally, the facade starts as a rusticated rougher render base, becoming refined as it ascends the building. The composition of aluminium windows gives an overall impression of elegance, proportion and beauty. Both internally and externally, the structure is exposed and celebrated.
The project is now complete and finished shots were taken in March 2019 – a full range of images will be available very shortly.
