Terra Bella Signature Landscaping LLCThe Japanese rock garden or “dry landscape” garden, often called a zen garden, creates a miniature stylized landscape through carefully composed arrangements of rocks, water features, moss, pruned trees and bushes, and uses gravel or sand that is raked to represent ripples in water. A zen garden is usually relatively small, surrounded by a wall, and is usually meant to be seen while seated from a single viewpoint outside the garden, such as the porch of the hojo, the residence of the chief monk of the temple or monastery. Classical zen gardens were created at temples of Zen Buddhism in Kyoto, Japan during the Muromachi Period. They were intended to imitate the intimate essence of nature, not its actual appearance, and to serve an aid to meditation about the true meaning of life.
A Zen garden is an interesting and deeply spiritual aspect of Japanese gardening traditions. The typical Zen garden consists of an enclosed and shallow sand box of sorts which features predominantly sand or gravel with rocks of various shapes and sizes. The rocks and sand (or gravel) are the chief elements of the garden, which generally creates the scene of islands in the sea.

Cal Green RemodelingHigh end Hexagon gazebo in Morgan Hill California. This custom outdoor kitchen/ gazebo was custom designed to be functional and durable while matching the existing house to the T. It features a stylish hexagon shape accented with regal concrete pillars that match the main dwelling perfectly. This gazebo was built to last with its modern composite tile roof and streamline camouflage no drip gutter system that directs the rain into an underground drainage system.

Hints of floral color and plenty of Asian-themed plantings complete the look, and the final project is one our clients are thrilled to enjoy for many years!

北野彰作建築研究所客間として元々あった和室は本式の数寄屋造りで水屋まで付いていました。最も傷んでいたのは広縁の床面でした。改修の方法は様々議論されましたが結局、サンダー掛けしたうえに蜜蝋ワックス掛けとする手法に落ち着きました。次いで雨戸の傷みも有りましたが洗い掛けしたうえに木材保存着色塗装することで美観も向上しました。
