Ecoscape Environmental DesignThe front walkway is a low-maintenance collection of ground covers, grasses, and blooming perennials. The various river rock sizes create texture as a dry creek bed running through the front yard, leading to the backyard gathering space. While there is plenty of flower color and bee activity in the summer, a snowy mantle on the ornamental grasses, boulders, and shrubs, keeps it visually interesting in the winter.

Ian Moore DesignEach of the materials was chosen for a balance of richness and simplicity. The Kebony decking continues the rich color tone set by the oiled Cedar shingle and traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban siding on the rear facade of the house. The California Gold Slate for the rear yard patio adds additional texture and depth to the ground plane. The powder-coated metal railings enclose the deck and partition the dog run and bike parking area from the main rear yard. The eclectic plant mix blends California natives with other Mediterranean plants for a variety of color, texture and seasonality.
Table2GardenUplighting of the new trees makes the most of these new trees and boulders and stone allow for a much needed elevation to be added to this very small side yard adjacent to the driveway. A lovely walkway was added along with a small pond.
earthlings inc.Our client was first introduced to our work when participating in the "Prairie Urban Garden" Tour put on by the Oldman Watershed Council (OWC). Their desire was to have their own "water conscious" landscape created for their new home. The Xeriscpe design was created using plant material that would have interest throughout all 4 seasons and the flagstone material was chosen to reflect the natural style the client desired.
Laughlin Design Associates, Inc.Re-designed the entire back yard, and added a spa, fish pond, arbor, flagstone patio, steps, gravel path, retaining walls, new fence and colorful, water-wise fragrant plants. Owner is color blind so all of the water wise plants are fragrant and tactile.

Beaudry Garden DesignThis property was covered with pink rock when our client called us. In an effort to be gentle on the environment, and to save money, the client took our suggestion to work with what they had by incorporating more contrasting rock to bring the property together in a cohesive design. The clients are active birders and wanted to grow their own food including vegetables and fruits. We worked with interior designer, Nikki Klugh, to select gorgeous furniture to compliment the design.

Our client was looking to create a space for retreat, tranquility, serenity. The existing space was somewhat funky without balance and made it difficult to feel good. Working within an existing courtyard space, we were limited. No matter, our goal was to remedy this
outdoor courtyard/sunset balcony space. Our idea
was to keep the space cozy but create destination
spaces where you can lay down in the grass and look
up at the stars. Walk bare foot atop the different
hardscape surfaces, reclaimed brick patio & walkway,
Silvermist flagstone, terra cotta tiles & tiffway
bermuda. The idea of sitting in front of a magical
rock island stone fireplace reading a book, sharing
conversation with family & friends gives us warm feelings. Bubbling water features dance through out this space creating sounds of trickling brooks you could only hear if you were in a far far away place. The courtyard walls disappear, with plants and trees wrapping there arms around our client while relaxing under a 45 year old ascalone olive tree. A healing garden was the finished product, so much, its a space that you don't ever want to leave....
Billy Goodnick Garden DesignDark Delight New Zealand Flax frame what will soon be a majestic Pincushion flower (Leucospermum) transplanted from the back garden (seen through the breezeway). Purple flowers and foliage echo each other and lots of open space was preserved to avoid clutter.
