Venetian StairsThis customer was having hardwood flooring installed so we removed the existing handrails and newels and then let the hardwood floor company install there flooring. We then returned to reinstall the Newel posts and railing with our PC18/1, PC18/2, and the PC33/2 Scroll all in our Old world Copper. Additionally we sanded and refinished the newel posts and railing to match the new hardwood flooring.
MarvinRenovated from a series of additions to an existing small cabin, this vacation home’s interior is a mixture of antique wood from the owner’s family farm and native woods from their property in the Berkshires. The stairs are particularly unique with pine and naturally curved maple slabs acting as stair stringers. The house is highly insulated and is designed for net zero in energy use—it actually produces more electricity (via PV panels) than it consumes. The house is also air sealed and insulated to levels above code (R-35 walls and R-62 cathedral ceilings). To help meet the energy-efficiency demands, triple-glazed Integrity® windows were installed to withstand the harsh Massachusetts’ climate.

Art of FlooringThis project began as a referral from our Sister company Art of Clean who specialise in Wood Floor Restoration. The client had previously had Art of Clean sand and finish a lovely original timber floor in a bedroom, they then wanted to do the same in the landing and incorporate a Carpet runner. We installed a Victoria Wool Twist Carpet as runners for the hall, stairs, and landing. We then finished the stairs with Satin Brass Stair Rods. After getting to know us the client was also interested in having a wooden floor installed in their living room. During a visit to our showroom on Milton Road fell in love with the Rustic Mixed Smoked and Tumbled Oak Herringbone floor we have in on display. This was then installed and finished with Pallmann Magic Oil.

Adventures In Wood, Ltd.A rustic cabin stair remodel we transformed from a plain log stair ladder to a upgrade custom mono beam design. Wood specie is supreme VG Douglas Fir for handrail and stair steps, with 1/2" x 1/2" plain iron tubular satin black balusters and with tubular 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" satin black newels, Handrail design and fabricated by Adventures in Wood, Ltd. Balusters and base shoes by House of Forgings supplied by Westfire Manufacturing, Inc. Finish is Osmo's natural plant based #3043 Poly-X, Mono Beam designed and fabricated by Artisan Metal Railings (Norm Green)
