Hibbs HomesClient lived in an old, inefficient home that we responsively demolished and replaced with a new, highly efficient home. The client moved into a rental home while their old home was demolished and the new home built. They wanted a home that was in-keeping with the Kirkwood neighborhood and reflected some of the same architectural elements/feel of the old home and others in the Kirkwood neighborhood.

OLSON LEWIS + ArchitectsMajor gut renovation of this coastal estate preserved its basic layout while expanding the kitchen. A veranda and a pair of gazebos were also added to the home to maximize outdoor living and the water views. The interior merged the homeowners eclectic style with the traditional style of the home.

Hodgins et Associés - Architectes paysagistesThe main entrance to the property is two discreet gravel tracks through the lawn. A 300 foot long perennial garden changes colours with the seasons. In early spring golden yellow narcissus and daffodils bloom with muscari and scilla In late spring the garden transforms into a riot of indigos, blues, violet and a dash of orange: geraniums, baptisia, lupins, iris, campanula with oriental poppies. In the summer through to fall white dominates always with touches and accents of deep blues and violet and orange: white phlox, hollyhocks & echinacea with veronicastrum, asters, bella conda lilies, yellow roses and hemerocallis.
Hortus OasisThis almost one-acre property hosts an historic Victorian home. The landscape design included an eight-foot-tall brick wall which required a variance, a retaining wall, new brick paving, a water feature, containers, and landscaping throughout the property. A wide variety of sun and shade loving plants and containers were used to create Victorian-style gardens. A flowering shrub border at the wall provides year-round bloom color.
