Help with Kitchen Layout!!
Hello!! I am currently working on floor plans for our house, and I am having trouble with our kitchen layout. I love love love the huge windows over the sink (which face the front of our house), but I am stuggling with where to put the fridge and stove. Where the fridge is right now in the floor plan (see picture), it makes sense, but it bothers me that the range hood and stove top are not centered on the island. I have thought about moving the fridge to where the double ovens are and centering stove on island, but that seems so far from the stove and sink. I have also thought about centering range hood and stove on the bottom wall (where the sink is now) with windows on either side. I am seriously stuck, and would love to hear your ideas. Thank you!!!!

(32) commentiCiao a tutti, Sono alle prese con un nuovo dilemma. Dobbiamo definire il progetto del giardino. Si tratta di quello che in immagine allegata è segnato con giardino L.1. Il lato superiore è a Nord, quello laterale di sinistra a Ovest e quello inferiore a Sud. La parte superiore è ca 20 x 8-10 m. La parte laterale è circa 4 x 15 m. La parte inferiore è circa 17 x 3,5-2,5 m. Infine a sud c’è una piccola penisola che sporge che è di ca 3,5 x 4 m. Devo posizionare 4 alberi da frutto (da capitolato, posso scegliere il genere. Tenete conto che vivo a Bolzano per considerazioni sul clima). Inoltre vorrei avere una zona libera per il gioco, una zona un po’ appartata per ragazzi adolescenti (gazebo? Pergolato?), un orto sopraelevato, fiori, aiuole, ecc. Come vedete dalla prima immagine abbiamo anche un cancelletto di ingresso, a destra del lato nord del giardino. Qualcuno potrebbe darmi suggerimenti su: tipo di alberi (sono alla prima esperienza di giardinaggio) posizione orto layout e posizionamento delle restanti cose altre idee e spunti. (10) commentiSono certa che saprai rendere vibrante il tuo spazio abitativo. Dal tuo scritto colgo l'entusiasmo con cui affronterai questo percorso. Mi permetto solo di dirti che, anche se agirai in autonomia, alla base delle scelte oltre al cuore metti una piccola dose di freno. Prima di agire fai un piccolo progetto di base su cui muoverti così da non eccedere...che poi anche se fosse si fa sempre in tempo a togliere. Ma il progetto è prima di tutto evitare spreco...spreco di tempo, spreco di energie, spreco di denaro, spreco di materiale.... Quindi progetta, pondera e poi agisci con tutto l'entusiasmo che leggo. Solo un piccolo consiglio per gli infissi. Eviterei il nero ma prediligerei il bianco o un grigio chiaro, colori poi che utilizzerai anche per i battiscopa. Se sono alti il colore potrebbe essere di interesse anche a soffitto. Inoltre studia molto bene l'illuminazione che puo fare la differenza sia a livello funzionale che d'effetto Scusa se mi sono un pò dilungata ma trovo questa tua avventura stimolante. (7) commentiCiao Mauro, a prima vista vedo davvero troppo disimpegno e quindi spazio inutilizzato. Comprendo le esigenze di fare lavori senza spendere troppo, ma qui mi viene da consigliarti: già che sei in ballo, balla. Prima di pensare a tecnicismi finali, quali "che tipo di pavimento mettere" o "varie tipologie di cucina" a mio avviso dovresti ristudiare il layout d'insieme. La prima cosa che mi viene in mente è dividere la casa in due parti su asse verticale. Si dovrebbe ragionare su come dividere poi le due porzioni con progetto dedicato, ma in linea di massima potrebbe essere qualcosa da cui partire. Solitamente, quando un cliente arriva con un immobile dal potenziale molto elevato e esigenze simili alle tue, lo invito prima di tutto a fare tabula rasa. Liberare mente e appartamento da ogni tramezza e provare a capire se con una "grossa" ristrutturazione si riuscirebbe a raggiungere "un sogno" oppure no. Dopo di che si stilano pro e contro, un pò più nel dettaglio e si iniziano a prendere decisioni più concrete. Intanto, però, si è compreso il massimo che si può ottenere dai lavori, no? Ragionaci su, insieme al tuo tecnico ovviamente. Buon lavoro!... mostra di più

2 anni faRefrigerator doors open frequently and normally, a person is using the ref at the same time. They will block that aisle towards the dining area, frequently. The person will probably want to walk down the aisle to get, oh say a glass, out of the dish storage cabinets. And god forbid, want to use the microwave to heat something up that they just took out of the ref. The dishwasher will block the other way in/out when it's door is open - having the dishwasher between the range and sink is generally a problem. A human trying to operate the range while the table is being set can get bookended by humans doing other things and left with no way to reach the sink or the pantry.
The dishwasher is oddly placed for another reason - you'll have to put yourself on the "wrong side" to put dishes away. It would be award for me because I seem to need to dump water off the bottoms of things all the time.
I would strongly consider making the island a slightly larger size, without quite so many positions (or maybe not any) for stools. I would try moving cleanup to outside edge of the island. You'd still have views but less contention. If the cleanup sink is in the island, there is no reason not to put perhaps a smaller sink on the side with the ref and the cooktop.
Other people here have made fine suggestions about trying out plans that reverse fridge and ovens. For me, I would strongly object to tall stuff closing off that end of the counter and blocking my ability to connect with others while cooking.
So, other things I would consider are moving the ref into the pantry. Getting a smart oven as my second oven (on the counter in the pantry) and putting a single 30" wall oven under counter in the main cooking run.
Just to say it, the other thing I see in my head is NO cabinets on the window wall and run the windows down to the floor or nearly the floor.
Last thing is that you CAN'T fit that many stools. People have parts that stick out (elbows) as do the stools themselves. Modern thinking is about 30 inches of linear space per human and remember that two people can't use the corner at the same time.Amanda Fellingham ha ringraziato bmorepanic
