Fences and Gates
Simple, but perhaps the verticals are too "thin" for our use?
Interesting detail at the top.
Could we opt for a colour other than black? Our front porch lights are oil rubbed bronze.
Like the treatment at the top - it provides interest. Judit: keep this an an option
Simple, with "arrows" at top. Works well with Victorian house. Should our fence design have more of an "arts and craft" look? Judit: Yes, it should have an "arts and crafts" look.
Perhaps too simple?
I like the "interest" created by the "diamond" shape in the middle.
Top part of the fence is simple. Also illustrates that a combination of wood and wrought iron can work well together.
Bottom fence is simple and has the arrow tips that Mart likes. Judit: Does not have the required "heft" and the fleur de lis does not work with our house.
Like the interest of the horizontal bar at the top and the two heights of the verticals. I also like the gate. Judit: UPrights too "skimpy">
Are the 'bulbous' bits too fussy? Otherwise the design is simple. Judit: Plain uprights better than decorative updates.
I like the way the pattern changes at the posts. Would this work if our posts are wrought iron rather than brick? Judit: This has potential. We could add a "spikes" on the long "post" areas.
Simple, but with some interest.
Like the different lengths of the verticals. Also think the gate has potential. A curved top could compliment the curve in our front door frame. Mart will like the pointed tops.
In honk this is too boring.
Simple. I like the change in style at the top. Judit: Nicely proporitoned and interesting.
I like the wavy bars alternating with straight. Judit: Not necessary to add the cost.
Simple, but with some interest. Judit: Double straight horizontals less interesting and may not be effective in a lower fence.
Little more interest with the lateral bars. Has pointed tops as per Mart request. Judit - thinks too "skinny".
Very plain. Will pass the non-climb able test. Judit - too plain.
I like the detail of having horizontal sections separated by this vertical detail. It is still simple, but does give some "relief".
Simple, possibly right gap? But does look a little industrial.
Simple, but slats too dense.
I would like a horizontal equivalent. In other words, not simply horizonal bars, but with some added detail to break up the linear nature. Judit likes the detail at the top, the proportions. We could add a "spike" element.
I like the combination of wrought iron and wood. Also, the design is simple and open.
Simple, but I think that the vertical pieces are too thick. This is essentially a privacy design.
Simple, yet with an interesting detail. The detail makes the simple horizontal design look less industrial. I also like the gate. Would this work for us?
Do not like this. It looks like the entry to a chicken coop
The colour certainly makes the iron "disappear" in the fencing area. I would not like a solid metal gate. The overall feel of this is too "metal" although I like the green growth. Is there any opportunity for us to have a "green wall" along the side of the drive?
Simple design. Bordered by wood. Would a wood/wrought iron combination work in our situation? Judit thinks it looks too heavy.
I like the curvature in the gate. Judit likes the gate.
Another example of alternating "points" with flat tops.
