Canino Residence
Like concept of floor to ceiling storage behind doors. Also, if we're tight on space, the little corner bench seat is a way to get at least 1 seat without wasting storage space. We'll need to store: kitchen appliances/cookbooks shoes, including winter/rainboots 2 backpacks, 2 lunch bags kids' coats These can be stored in combo of inside cabinets, on exposed hooks, etc. Shiplap is cute, but not needed. Main concern is maximizing storage.
Cool laundry room tile, but may be too big of tile for our space??
Not sure we’ll have room for something like this, but again, cool way for lots of items to dry flat.
Like concept of hang dry & flat dry features that make good use of space in laundry rm
Like how they brought color into neutral palate. Not a fan of the orange for my house, but fun concept. Like how bitbaccent comors pulled in with art too.
This is far bolder than I’d want to go, but I’m drawn to blues & greens...maybe it’s because we love the ocean & the beach!
Like how they brought blue into this neutral palate. Flooring is too red for me. Although I don’t care for these curtains, I like the idea of window treatments that make the windows seem as tall & prominent as they can be.
Floor is pretty. Like wood beams adding depth of color & wood/natural element to the room, although don’t necessarily like having this many wood beams on the ceiling.
This is a neat room. Interesting how they used a deeper gray to contrast the white trim on the window wall. Not sure what I think about gray on the walls for our house, but it feels warmer how they’ve incorporated the beige/sand color. Maybe I do like gray on the walls as long as the overall feeling of the room is warm & inviting?
Like feel of this room. Love the cool candles on the sofa table. Like the beams in the ceiling that tie into brown trim leading to the outdoor area.
These colors are pretty. Like the contrast of the wall color with white trim.
I like the general look/feel of this room, except I’m not a fan of the light fixture. I like the idea of wood beams on the ceiling, but 1) I don’t know how expensive that would be and 2) I don’t know if we’ve got the right type of ceiling to do it. We will likely need a support beam in between the kitchen & great room when we push the wall back behind the kitchen table.
I know this is completely different than the neutral palate that I’ve shared, but I think these colors are fun & whimsical. Don’t like rug though.
This rug looks comfy! We still sit on the floor to play cards, so I want the accent rug in the great room to be comfortable.
Like these colors & bringing in the greenery.
I like the general look/feel- light & bright, yet has some depth of color w/wood beams, pillows, & color in artwork.
What caught my eye is the infusion of color through pillows. I don’t like the carpet, ottoman/seats or Roman shades- too dark for me. MG: Love this minus the same things you pointed out. The pops of color feel like you!
What a cool concept to open to the outdoors! Don’t think we can do it, but it’s cool. Like the beige & gray, but maybe too much white for me.
The furniture isn’t my style, but I like the overall look/feel of this room. Like that it feels light & bright, yet still warm & inviting.
Wall colors are pretty & like floor a lot too! Might be a bit too monotone in the room overall? I like neutral palate, but I need a bit of color infused somehow- either through artwork, pillows, accessories.MG:
Like general look/feel. Like the wood floor. Might be a bit too gray vs. warmer neutral palate for me, but beautiful. That brick wall is cool...just don't think we could necessarily pull that off in our house. Feels like more of an urban or upscale home than ours?
maybe too red, but nice floor
floor color maybe, too grainy
floor color
countertops
Cool stairs & flooring. Like the look of iron bars that are simple, yet more than just straight bars. Don't like when there's too much detail in the bars. MG: Got it on the railing - we can find something like this or at least different than the norm for you.
Showcases open stairs. Not sure if it's better to do bars vertical or horizontal in our house? MG: I will look when I come out again, but your home probably lends itself more to vertical vs. horizontal.
Like the focal backsplash behind stove, but not a fan of the square tiles on left/right. MG: Nice!
Like brightness of the room. Do not like how backspash is laid like a spreadsheet. Maybe like counter tops because blend of gray, white, & taupe, but would prefer longer sweeps/veins of color vs. this look. Is this counter look too dated? MG: I think the countertop is too dated, but like your idea of sweeps of veining, which is more current, yet classic at the same time.
Like the idea of colored subway tile vs. white. Don't want the kitchen to feel too white/sterile. MG: I'll show you some snapshots of one I just did w/ a light colored splash - made the room pop - loved it!
Like the general look, but wonder if I'd like it better if the backspash was only behind vent hood & a more subtle one used in the rest of the design? MG: Agree unless the accent area is too small for enough impact.
Like the general look/feel of the brick backsplash. Like how it's light, neutral, and adds texture. Barstools look like they might actually be comfortable. MG: This is a stone, which can get more expensive, but depends on what we find. Like this look - soft, yet w/ contrast.
Like island counter top. Like flooring & how it doesn't show too much grain. Do not like oven backspash- too dark & small pattern seems too busy. Subway tile is too dark for me.
Like Gray’s & Taupes in tile and the bit of shimmer too. Hate the wall paper- not interested in wall paper. MG: Nice tile.
Like that countertops have grays and light browns woven together, although may be a little too dark in the overall look for me. I'd like to see a bit more white in there too. Do NOT like the shape of the backsplash tiles- too "old" or traditional for me. MG: That's a pretty strong patterned countertop for a small kitchen. Maybe just on the island & a simpler top on the perimeter?
We may need something like this because I don't want to look at sponges on the countertop anymore., but don't want it to get stinky in the cabinet.
Nifty idea to hide frequently used appliances, but I assume it would only be an option with custom cabinets, which I don't think we're going to do as a cost saving measure.
If a narrow cabinet doesn't work out to store these types of things, a drawer is an option.
Cool way to store big utensils...not sure if it's better to use a drawer in our kitchen?
Feels like a cool, modern space, but not sure it would work in our house.
Love the open feel, but I know we don't have the space.
Like neutral color tones. Flooring is too much of a "white wash." I gravitate to medium to dark wood floors.
Cool overall look. Neat lighting, but maybe it's neat because it also have very high ceilings & lots of natural light. Wonder if this type of barstool would be good for us? I'd like the seats to be comfortable, yet not have a tall back since we don't have a lot of space. Pretty floors, but I wonder if I gravitate to a little wider wooden plank? Don't want to get too trendy with that thought. MG: Lights are beautiful, but you are right, they work because of all that height & tray ceiling detail. We can find a barstool that's in between - comfortable, yet light/ airy & not too oversized. We could look at a 4 1/2" plank floor - gets you wider without going to a 5" more trendy size.
Like feel & brightness. Like shimmer on back splash. Like the island counter top because it has a white background that weaves in deeper neutral tones. Although I gravitate to darker flooring, this is pretty & wonder if it would like nicer with dark furniture in other rooms on 1st floor?? Definitely do not want the flooring to look anything like our current foyer. MG: Nice tile
Like the uniqueness of this look, yet there's still a symmetry/balance of color changes. Brick is cool. Not sure I would want the charcoal gray for us, but it works here. Don't like floors- too much grain in the look for me. MG: Like the balance of color/ contrast as well. It's different look that you would have to really want. Can explore more.
multiple hooks- triple top/center with double/triple on left and right sides of cubbies
