Midtown Atlanta
Since the house was built in the early 1900;s, the owners wanted the structure and details of the house to reflect that time frame. When we planned the photo shoot, the owners furniture had not yet arrived, so we used many of my pieces from this period. Morris Chair on right with claw feet from late 1800's and Stickley style Oak chair on left. Antique, leather bound books along with art pottery (Rookwood, Roseville, Keller, McCoy, etc) to display in the lighted custom built quarter sawn oak bookcases. I designed the mantel piece to wrap around the fireplace and become the tops of the bookcases. Wool rug in an arts & crafts design, wool Mulberry throw on ottoman in an art nouveau design. Ottoman used as coffee table from Crate & Barrel, covered in vintage style green chenille. Vintage china sits on a silver tray. Antique gilded mirror on mantel above fireplace. Period colours in a lighter palette were used throughout. Custom drapes with a large border at the bottom are also in period colours. Paint is all from Benjamin Moore. Walls: Hawthorne Yellow (matte), Trim (semi-gloss), Linen White and ceiling is Greenmount Silk.
