Les Erables
This powder room's narrow and long design was a challenge for a muralist. Originally the owner had asked me to develop a texture or faux finish in tones of charcoal grey or black and silver.
I made a dozen samples, and while I was researching ideas found a Rembrandt etching that caught my attention. It was a powerful black and white print of three trees in a Dutch landscape. I loved it and thought my customer might feel the same way. I made a quick interpretation of the original on one of my samples, just in case.
She did choose it and was gracious enough to give me a lot of leeway, as I had to cover all the walls with an extension of the original idea.
I like this wall paper in this narrow bathroom
