ROAM ArchitectureUpdating a modern classic
These clients adore their home’s location, nestled within a 2-1/2 acre site largely wooded and abutting a creek and nature preserve. They contacted us with the intent of repairing some exterior and interior issues that were causing deterioration, and needed some assistance with the design and selection of new exterior materials which were in need of replacement.
Our new proposed exterior includes new natural wood siding, a stone base, and corrugated metal. New entry doors and new cable rails completed this exterior renovation.
Additionally, we assisted these clients resurrect an existing pool cabana structure and detached 2-car garage which had fallen into disrepair. The garage / cabana building was renovated in the same aesthetic as the main house.

Highland Builders LLCA traditional style home that sits in a prestigious West Bend subdiviison. With its many gables and arched entry it has a regal southern charm upon entering. The lower level is a mother-in-law suite with it's own entrance and a back yard pool area. It sets itself off with the contrasting James Hardie colors of Rich Espresso siding and Linen trim and Chilton Woodlake stone blend.

Harrison ArchitectsWe converted the original 1920's 240 SF garage into a Poetry/Writing Studio by removing the flat roof, and adding a cathedral-ceiling gable roof, with a loft sleeping space reached by library ladder. The kitchenette is minimal--sink, under-counter refrigerator and hot plate. Behind the frosted glass folding door on the left, the toilet, on the right, a shower.

H2D Architecture + DesignThere are two small sleeping cabins on the property. The small sleeping cabins are one story structures. Each cabin contains two bedrooms and a bathroom. The goal for the design is to have the visitors gather at the main cabin rather than spending all their time in the sleeping cabins.

UserThe contemporary style house is linear in nature creating a diametric form against the organic landscape. The opposing forms do well in showcasing each other in their contrast. The grand open floor plan welcomes you in as the views of the surrounding mountain range parade the backside of the home. The 12’ span of glass creates a feeling of being amongst the outdoors while enjoying the comforts of the home. Ample light floods into the home with a row of clerestory windows in the two-story great room. This home was truly built for entertaining, with a 12-person dining table, two living rooms, a bunk room, and a large outdoor entertaining area with a dual-sided fireplace.
Glo A5f double pane windows and doors were selected since modern profiles and cost-effective efficiency were a priority. The aluminum series boasts high-performance spacers, multiple air seals, a continuous thermal break, and low iron glass with sleek durable hardware. Selecting the flange (f) profile of the series allows for a conventional install to an otherwise exceptional window. The clarity and size of the windows and doors showcase the true beauty of the home by allowing the outdoors to flood into the space. The strategic placement of awning windows fixed windows and tilt and turn windows promotes intentional airflow throughout the home.
Regnauer Hausbau GmbH & Co. KGEin Bauplatz am Ortsrand mit wunderschönem alten Baumbestand. Einen besseren Standort für das Konzept des Regnauer Musterhauses Liesl kann es nicht geben. Hier ist die Baufamilie „dahoam“. In ihrem modernen Landhaus – basierend auf Traditionellem.
Die Grundfläche ist etwas kompakter geschnitten, die Raumaufteilung auch auf leicht kleinerer Fläche immer noch sehr großzügig.
Die Variabilität des ursprünglichen Grundrisses wurde genutzt für die Umsetzung eigener Ideen, die ganz den persönlichen Bedürfnissen Rechnung tragen.
Auch die äußere Gestalt des Hauses zeigt eine eigene Handschrift. Zu sehen an der Auslegung des Balkons, der eleganten Holzverschalung im Obergeschoss und weiteren Details, die erkennbar sachlicher gehalten sind – gelungen, stimmig, individuell.

Connecticut Roofcrafters LlcThe rear view of this historic restoration project of a wood roof on this 17th-century Elizabethan-style residence in Middletown, CT. Built in 1686 by Daniel Harris for his son Samuel, this house was renovated in early 1700 to add the shed section beginning just below the chimney, providing the illusion of a traditional Saltbox house. We specified and installed Western Red cedar from Anbrook Industries, British Columbia.
