This master ensuite is the “sanctuary” in the home for this busy couple. Whether it is a long shower or a long soak in the tub, this ensuite has become their own personal spa. The tub is a key sculptural focal point taking up the prime location in front of the window, and is partnered on the opposite wall with the three sided glass shower with a classic marble mosaic that wraps the floor and up the back wall. The vanities were designed to look like pieces of furniture with finishes that maintain visual flow from the rest of this amazing home. Hardware, accessories, and plumbing fixtures were chosen to maintain the classic charm and elegance that the clients’ requested. There were two major challenges faced in the creation of this ensuite bath; the first was the significant structural requirements needed to create the openness on the first and second floors, that left very little room to run the new plumbing up to the third floor. The second issue is common when finishing an attic space with respect to head room. Both issues were solved by carefully laying out the bathtub, shower and vanities while maximizing space and flow. Taking advantage of natural light, this bathroom also incorporates plenty of storage, and is truly one of the best spots to be in this home.
