Several years ago these homeowners from Leominster, MA built a beautiful home with a rustic theme, but it was now due for some renovation. They wanted an updated, state-of-the-art kitchen but did not want to sacrifice the older, rustic look of the original house design. We supplied and installed Homestead cabinetry with custom paint colors (Silvery Moon and Red) to compliment the house. We also supplied natural soapstone counters with a full soapstone backsplash. Around the island, the homeowner requested seating and also wanted to be able to charge their laptop and cell phones. Custom drawers were installed to accommodate their requests.
Red Chair DesignsThis kitchen from the late 1950's was small and enclosed. We took out a wall, added cabinets, and enlarged door ways in order to give it a feeling of openness. Now when the homeowners are in the kitchen they can enjoy their guests in the living and dining rooms.

Talianko Design Group, LLCThis Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen was completely remodeled and the home is nestled on the border of Pasadena and South Pasadena. Our goal was to keep the original charm of our client’s home while updating the kitchen in a way that was fresh and current.
Our design inspiration began with a deep green soapstone counter top paired with creamy white cabinetry. Carrera marble subway tile for the backsplash is a luxurious splurge and adds classic elegance to the space. The stainless steel appliances and sink create a more transitional feel, while the shaker style cabinetry doors and schoolhouse light fixture are in keeping with the original style of the home.
Tile flooring resembling concrete is clean and simple and seeded glass in the upper cabinet doors help make the space feel open and light. This kitchen has a hidden microwave and custom range hood design, as well as a new pantry area, for added storage. The pantry area features an appliance garage and deep-set counter top for multi-purpose use. These features add value to this small space.
The finishing touches are polished nickel cabinet hardware, which add a vintage look and the cafe curtains are the handiwork of the homeowner. We truly enjoyed the collaborative effort in this kitchen.

James C Schell LLCMarble was used on the sink and cooktop counters. But on the island and the long counter next to the French doors the homeowners chose soapstone, a beautiful, warm material. An elongated subway tile that's just a touch off-white is used for the backsplash throughout.
Kitchens For CookingThis kitchen is small, but can accommodate four or more active cooks at once The lack of wall storage means that the base and tall cabinets are all created to have maximum storage and organizational capacity. The designer and owner like the concept of wabi-sabi: mixing the sleek (appliances and cabinetry) with the rustic (Central and South American artworks and artifacts). Notice the Peruvian bean pot (love it) and the fact that the dining room light mimics the wall hung table below it.

The goal of the project was to create a more functional kitchen, but to remodel with an eco-friendly approach. To minimize the waste going into the landfill, all the old cabinetry and appliances were donated, and the kitchen floor was kept intact because it was in great condition. The challenge was to design the kitchen around the existing floor and the natural soapstone the client fell in love with. The clients continued with the sustainable theme throughout the room with the new materials chosen: The back splash tiles are eco-friendly and hand-made in the USA.. The custom range hood was a beautiful addition to the kitchen. We maximized the counter space around the custom sink by extending the integral drain board above the dishwasher to create more prep space. In the adjacent laundry room, we continued the same color scheme to create a custom wall of cabinets to incorporate a hidden laundry shoot, and dog area. We also added storage around the washer and dryer including two different types of hanging for drying purposes.
Dovetailed KitchensEase of use is key in this two-toned classic kitchen. Pull out shelves for pans, a pull out waste bin, and countertop storage with a rack for mugs make this space just as livable as it is gorgeous.
