Circular terraced garden in Digswell, Hertfordshire
A new build house with a steeply terraced garden, the main aim was to push the garden back away from the house to create a useable patio area. A circular theme runs through the garden starting with semi circular retaining walling which creates seating and raised planters with a semi circle of upright hardwood posts providing much needed safety protection from the top level of the garden to the lower level patio. Also set within the retaining wall a water feature provides a interesting focal point.
A curved block paved pathway runs along the top of the retainer area and arcs around the circular lawn providing access to the rest of the garden.
Cedar trellis panels clad the existing fence at patio level creating a more interesting backdrop for the seating area with sleeper retaining beds planted with clipped box balls finishing off the smart contemporary garden.
