“At Studio Spice we worked with Jonathan De Friend to source 400 sq m of flooring and staircase cladding for a large private residential renovation project. We were looking for something contemporary but organic. He found for us a bespoke wall to wall planks solution, using high grade ash, that was engineered in the UK, so with minimal carbon footprint. He liaised between us and the mill, oversaw installation, was excellent in coordinating timelines and installation conditions with the main contractor and made great suggestions for smaller details, such as threshold detailing and position of cuts. He also stayed in touch for a great after sales service and snagging. We will certainly be working with Jonathan again.”

“We have had an oak kitchen floor refreshed and re-stained to 'better than new' by Eric from Surrey Flooring Services for c £500. More recently we commissioned them to rip out the carpets and restore the pine floor boards of the ground floor of our large detached 'arts and crafts' late Victorian house. This involved some complex plank matching and replacements, infilling the gaps between the planks quite apart from a total re-sanding , staining and sealing - all executed with great attention to detail at short notice, on time and on budget for c £4,500. We strongly recommend them.”

“I used ah peck flooring to re floor the entire downstairs of our home after a personal recommendation from a friend. The service from start to finish was great- from the office manager through to the floor fitters themselves. The whole process was explained to me very clearly at the start and the owner was very accommodating with my many questions! Theres a vast choice of flooring in the showroom and the owner, Corey, talked me through all the different options before we decided on a final product. I'm extremely happy with the finish of the floor- particularly as there were some quite complicated areas to work around. The workmen were also very friendly and clearly very capable. “I had tired splintered original floorboards with holes in and pieces that needed replacing. These guys were brilliant. They moved my furniture without fuss and put it all back again, they filled and bonded wood between the gaps and when they sanded it down there was no dust residue. The finish has made an enormous difference in lifting my flat in to the stylish residence it deserves to be. Original sanded and professionally filled and treated floorboards has to be the most beautiful finish available for any wooden floor. My expectations were surpassed and now I feel surprisingly precious when water drops from unloading the dishwasher, or when my dog runs to the garden and slides round the corner of the kitchen scratching the beautiful floor to get to the garden - need to teach her to buff it and not scratch it - doggie slippers perhaps! hahaha”

“Erik laid 450sq ft of 170mm chateau natural in my hallway, living room and kitchen - and the results are beautiful. I am renovating a dark, run-down Victorian basement flat in South East London and the oak flooring has literally transformed it overnight. I was also very pleased with the high-end workmanship, particularly on some tricky steps leading down to my kitchen. What is also great is that most of the boards are long - it is one of the reasons I chose Erik in the first place as most oak floor retailers/fitters seem to offer only smaller lengths. “I selected Christian's company to replace the flooring in our loft apartment in a 200 year old building in the old Woolwich Arsenal. From the start he was extremely helpful, had good ideas and provided samples. They ripped up the old flooring to find a disaster beneath with lots of logistical problems, miles out of level, different levels, lack of insulation, plumbing issues etc. . Nothing seemed beyond them and the guys on site were always there early and left when it made sense to rather than on the dot. They solved every problem and laid a truly beautiful solid wood floor with a tiled area in the kitchen. We were absolutely delighted with the outcome which is now totally in keeping with its surrounding's, and the curved join between kitchen and living area was all Christian's idea and perfectly executed. Throughout the job Christian was always on top of things and he kept me informed. His team were extremely tidy, professional and keen to help. I would have absolutely no hesitation to use them again and recommend them. They even fixed my creaky Berkley fitted staircase.... A pleasure to do business with them and the price was competitive.”
