“We had several rooms of the house painted as well as an exterior wooden porch railing. The back sunroom required the most work. The room was originally monochrome, so the ceiling needed to be patched and painted white and three walls needed to be a different color. Then we had a brick wall which needed to be painted white. The kitchen walls were re-painted. The upstairs bedroom ceiling was re-painted. The outside front porch railing needed scraped, skimmed, primed and painted as well as a small portion of exposed wood on the side of the house. Ted was among 4 painters from whom I obtained estimates. Each gave their opinion on what they though should be done in the sunroom which was the most complicated area. Ted was the most precise and knowledgeable. He backed up his opinions with fact and logic. His estimate was not the highest nor the lowest. But he was the only one who broke down the estimate in a clear and concise manner enabling me to choose some or all of the options. He then emailed me a list of references to contact. All the references I contacted praised his work ethic and performance. He then came over with the contract and clearly explained what each section meant before we both signed it. The work was started three days later as he had promised and he sent his best painter, Jules, to do the job. Jules was amazing. His careful attention to detail, his respectful attitude and meticulous methods made things go smoothly. The entire job took about 5 days. At the end of each day, Jules cleaned up the work area and neatly arranged his supplies in a corner out of the way. He was the most easy going, fastidious person I have ever met. When there was a lapse in communication and he inadvertently painted the brick wall green instead of white, I called Ted and the problem was immediately fixed, no questions asked. I kept apologizing to Jules but he just said, "don't worry, it's not a problem." He is a rare find, in my opinion. Ted stopped by on the third day, to check everything and make sure the work was satisfactory. I would not hesitate to recommend Ted and his team to anyone and welcome the opportunity to provide him a reference.”

“The TH Group built us a beautiful custom enclosed cupboard in an area that was 96"H x 72" wide. Standard cabnetry would have been 24" deep and we had 32" available. TH Group presented us with a computer model of how they invisioned filling the space. From there we made changes to the model then the final product was made. The helped us prioritize where to spend our money and where we could save. The design process was longer than I anticipated, but the OBDS team was patient as we weighed our options. They answered our questions, listened to our requests and quickly adjusted plans accordingly. We had a lot of questions, about everything, but calls and emails were responded to promptly and I never felt like a burden. Once we decided on the final design, materials etc., Emily reviewed our complete order in detail, confirmed pricing and submitted it to the cabinet manufaturer. Our cabinets arrived a week early with no issues. The installation process was relatively seamless, save for a few issues with our house (not the cabinets). Once the cabinets were in place, Open Door brought us several counter samples based on what we liked and our budget. She helped coordinate our granite order and ensured that everything was in place for timely delivery. My wife and I enjoy cooking and entertaining. Our new kitchen is an attractive and functional place where we can do both. When it comes time to remodel our bathroom, we will definitely call Emily and Open Door Building Solutions again.”
