“I bought my beautiful Bellfire fireplace at Ballynount and would recommend them without hesitation. Professional, excellent products and boy do they pack a lot into that showroom in Ballymount. Nothing was a trouble to Gerry, Michael and the team. As it happened, my Son had a very serious injury while I was ordering the fire. Without paying a farthing, Gerry ordered the fireplace for me while I was in hospital with him. So kind I cannot tell you what that meant at a very difficult time. Our installation was a tricky one as we were installing the fire to the side of an original fireplace. Michael, plumber extraordinaire, went above and beyond making sure first that the fire would work and then fitting it to perfection. He placed it first and asked me to inspect. Then moved it the fraction my OCD required! The fire is one of the highlights of the house. I so look forward to putting it on during the long dark winter evenings! “Changing from an open fire to a multi-fuel stove is not taken lightly and requires excellent teamwork including plumber, plasterer, and the whole CDSF team. Phase one entailed removing the back boiler, existing grate and the flue throat block. Then replacing a lintel over the newly formed opening, relining the flue and replacing the chimney pot. Even the skip was thoughtfully positioned in such a way that the garage and driveway were still accessible. What a messy noisy, dirty job. An extraction unit effectively removed dust and the wall was prepared for the plasterer. The wall was re-plastered and given time to dry slowly left us with a lovely clean crisp finish for painting. Phase two entailed protecting the newly laid floor with a high tech film, positioning the matching granite hearth, inset and installing the stove. Attention to fine detail was spot on e.g. stove centred precisely, any additional flue fittings sprayed to match the stove colour. The mantelpiece installed and then checked later in the day to ensure everything had set correctly. We invested in a Clearview Vision 500 stove with a log stand for ease of use. The double pane of glass doesn't need cleaning, The air flow we've found to be highly effective and the ash tray only needs emptying every four days or so. The difference has been transformational, no down draughts, less dust and we're able to leave the sitting room doors open to heat the rest of the house. We can whole-heartedly recommend investing in a Clearview stove from County Down Stoves and Flues as the outcome is well worth the effort.”
