“From the time we first met Scott in person, we felt completely confident in his abilities to help us design our first home. Scott was extremely personable and made us feel at ease throughout the entire process, which was no easy feat since we have little experience with the home design process. He is very knowledgeable in Michigan code and energy-efficient homes and made some great suggestions on how we could increase the R value of the house, which was very important to us. He offered advice about which type of insulation to use, what windows would be most cost-effective yet eco-friendly and how geothermal could be used in our home. “I can't say enough great things about our experience working with AZD on our dream home! This is NOT the only architect that we looked at and based on their creativity, personalities involved and the work they've done for us we definitely made the right choice. I also very much liked that they had a clear pricing model that was concise. Other architects that we met with in the area couldn't provide us with much clarity and only left us more confused on how much it might cost. Our house will be out here on Houzz at some point and you'll see why we're excited about the work they've done and their creativity....it's going to be a very cool house! I had never heard of them but with a simple google search their site popped up and looking at their portfolio it was interesting to find that the four houses we loved were all designed by AZD. We still looked at other Architects just to be completely informed, and as I said above, we know for certain we made the right choice to go with AZD. Building a dream home is about the total experience...the right Architect makes a huge difference in that experience.”

“We consulted with Jon to help us with reshape an old 3300 sq ft outdated quad level home into a 4000 sq ft Tuscan inspired dream. Jon worked with us on an extremely tight deadline, one week, to do full phase 1 drawings and sketches. We are so grateful for Jon's help and time, considering phase 1 typically takes a month or longer. What really impressed us was Jon's professionalism and passion for his work. He had a lot of great ideas and input for us, and the finished proposal was absolutely terrific. The project was going to cost around $400,000 to complete in its entirety, and Jon's proprietary formula for calculating cost, which uses data from 100s of previous jobs, was within 5% of the contractor's bid. We ultimately decided not to purchase the home and move forward with the gut and renovation due to personal reasons. However, Jon is without a doubt going to be our architect should another project ever arise. My wife and I cannot recommend Jon enough. When it comes to choosing an architect, you cannot go wrong.”
