“I contacted Carawan Architecture to see if there was anyway to transform my tract house with a poor floorplan and a small kitchen into something more suitable for entertaining. Dee provided me with over 10 detailed options, from the simple, low budget not involving moving walls to the grander scheme of moving walls out in two directions. Her plan was so lovely, I had to go for the grander one, adding a foyer, dining room and enlarging my kitchen into a gourmet kitchen. I am so pleased I did. She integrated the existing structure into the new and people seeing my place for the first time don't believe it's an addition. She added details that transformed even the original rooms into something that felt customized - she curved entryways, making arches to give the place a cozy feel. She listened to what I liked and her design reflected my taste as well as her ideas. I still thrill at my wonderfully transformed house! Check out my before and after kitchen photos.”

Deb reconfigured the space and helped us figure out exactly what our needs were (with 2 young kids!) and how we used the space. The level of professionalism, responsiveness, and honesty was something my husband and I have rarely encountered in our various home-renovation projects. “I had the pleasure of working directly with Andy Roteman during a period of approximately 3 years, 2015-2018 in raising money for a capital project at La Cumbre Junior High School sponsored by the Santa Barbara based non-profit organization, La Cumbre Foundation. From beginning to end as the designated architect selected by the La Cumbre Foundation board of directors Andy Roteman donated numerous hours in developing the plans for the project, taking the plans all the way through the review process with the various mandatory agencies, including the Santa Barbara Unified School District. He was patience and tolerant of delays and modifications that needed to be made. In the end the $325,000.00 beautification project leading to the school's performing arts center has greatly enhanced La Cumbre Junior High School and the Westside Community at large. I would hire Andy Roteman of Roteman Eberhard and Associates again for a capital project or my own personal property.”
