“Sean Tomlinson architected our kitchen and dining room remodel. Our goals were to expand, modernize, and improve the functionality of the existing space for our growing family. Our original house had a shape that didn't lend itself to what we envisioned, so we reached out to Sean. He designed a spacious, stunning space that is a pleasure to live and work in. Sean was wonderful to to work with and took a great deal of time with us upfront to understand how we use our living space. It was a major remodel, and he was able to tie it beautifully back to the rest of the existing house.”

Taylor Meyer brought great ideas to the table and incorporated our own while creating a wonderful combination of both in the final design. Almost everything we envisioned in our home ended up in the final design. We are building from afar, and VFLA was able to accommodate remote and in-person meetings around our busy schedules. “Laura Hicks was a joy to work with. We have never used an architect before but decided to because we wanted a quality remodel for our outdated 1980’s ranch house. We were impressed by Laura’s professionalism, her work was excellent, her support when we were overwhelmed by design elements choices, her ability to identify our taste even when we could not articulate it. She listened to us and helped us make difficult decisions by asking us questions about what we didn’t like in the existing house. She was also honest about the prohibitive cost of some of our ideas and suggested more practical solutions. Her suggestions saved us more money than she charged us which was reasonable. Hiring her was the best decision we made. We love our house. The fact that she made the process go smoothly and timely convinced our contractors of the value of having clients work with an architect especially one like her who understands the complications of remodeling older houses. I would recommend her without any hesitation.”

“We were so pleased with Brian's vision and design for our addition. Our house was built in the late 90's and was ready for a new, refreshing modern look. Brian always offered us quality service and worked with us through our whole process. This was our first time using an architect and we really needed him to guide us through our follow up steps with the city and obtaining a permit. Thanks for holding our hands! :) He's so helpful and also has recommendations for builders and structural engineer partners. Brian takes pride in his work and really listens to his clients. We highly recommend Urban I Rural Design.”
