“I love this house every single day I'm in it. And some make a credible argument that our detached bedroom, added later, also by their design, is the best part! Inside and out flow seamlessly, which is what our psyches need. Recently we made a rookie mistake. We needed help with big plans for landscaping to be integrative with our big add-on deck. We first turned to a landscape person...FAIL. We so should have turned to Designworks first. We pitched the landscape person's lame 'concept.'; We are building to Designworks plans. “Dave Piches was a perfect fit for my project. There are many reasons to hire an architect but mine could be reduced to one large factor; creativity. Being a contractor for the past 23 years, I'm not new the construction process and I have rather high expectations. Couple this aspect of the situation with the fact that for years I had attempted to draw the plans myself as part of a creative outlet but could not bring all of the aesthetics in place as a comprehensive whole which had any panache. After Dave met with me and my wife, he took the plans I provided along with the ideas we stated and created an entirely different design. At first my feelings were a bit hurt that none of what I supplied was used in the final design, but as I went through his plans that faded quickly. He heard everything we requested and then added "wow" which resulted in a fantastic design that intrigues all that visit. Every detail I had described and drawn was used but in ways I had not imagined. If creativity is the order of the day, you'll be in good hands with Dave Piches.”

“Mark was recommended to us by a local contractor, and he turned out to be great throughout the entire process. He did conceptual drawings and then the full set of plans for a major remodel on our Spanish revival home in 2009. We had alot of our own ideas and he respected them, all the while adding his own input and rolling it all together into a stunning final result. Most of the work centered around a kitchen remodel and adding a covered back porch and entry from the driveway. There was also a bath room laundry room, office area and dining room with a fireplace. He was very pleasant to work with (easy going, nice guy, etc) which helps enormously when you're trying to get the mental images of what you want on to paper. One thing still stands out is that his plans were so thorough and full of so many details. Very impressive work, and our project wasn't easy.”

“We loved working with Melissa and Jay-they are talented, professional, creative and thoughtful. They are hands-on, accessible, hardworking and caring. We needed an Architect who understood the needs of a growing family and who could redesign our home into something that would better reflect our lifestyle-Jay and Melissa were the perfect match. Not only were they wonderful to work with, but their passion and knowledge were incredible. It was helpful to have people who were focussed on the end result given that we needed to phase our project. Melissa and Jay were accommodating in helping to develop a master plan for the house as a whole, and then breaking the actual projects up into manageable phases. They had great suggestions for keeping the project within budget, while at the same time understanding where to splurge. Their knowledge of materials, products and construction resulted in a home that is far more wonderful than we expected. We appreciate that they were always available and willing to work at the pace that we needed, and that they were there with recommendations and options for every decision from design options, to cabinetry and hardware choices, to an excellent sense of color and material.
