“We hired Brickmoon Design to draw plans for our small 1920 bungalow to add a 2nd bath and were hoping to get the washer/dryer into the house (from the garage). They came up with 2 main ideas, took dimensions and we had the survey done, but we have not made a decision on whether to 1) stay within our small 1350 sf footprint, or 2) add onto the house at a substantially higher cost. My husband doesn't want to spend the extra money to add on but I like the addition idea the best, so we have not gone any further. So far, we are out about $5,000 for plans and survey but are stalled. Brickmoon gave us exactly what we asked for, but I still think there has got to be a cost effective way to add an additional 200-300 square feet. Am I dreaming?”

“I have worked with Laura Manchee for several years now on different projects. She came into my life when she did a commercial design project for my son. I had never personally worked extensively with an interior designer. Laura did such an outstanding job of creating an environment that perfectly suited my sons' esthetics that I really wanted her to help me with my home. Laura exceeded every expectation I could have ever had. She brought color into my life and nudged me outside my 'comfort zone'. My husband and I so loved what she did that when we were ready to do some renovations to our lake house Laura was our immediate choice. Even though the project was in another city it was done professionally and beautifully. My only criteria for it was that I wanted to walk in and feel I was on vacation somewhere fun. We do! We love spending time there and always hate to lock the door behind us when we have to leave. We recently purchased a new home and Laura has once again worked her magic. She knows me well and I feel that our home perfectly reflects the warmth and welcome we wanted to convey. Laura's success lies in the fact that she never pushes anything on her clients but she is more than able to work with people who have different visions. She has an excellent team to back her up. “I have known John Guy for several years through association in the TIBD (Texas Institute of Building Designers). My membership in TIBD was as a supplier. As a supplier I worked with and got to know many of the members. This year I decided to start building homes. There were several reasons I chose John Guy: #1 He is an excellent designer, #2 He listens to his clients and designs to meet their ideas. #3. He has a working knowledge of products and applications. #4. He understands the complex nature between design and construction. For these reasons, John has been a great deal of help in product selection. I have also hired John to inspect the job and provide quality assurance. This way I am assured of getting everything done right the first time, and preventing any defects in workmanship from getting covered up. John is what I call a Full Service Designer. Richard Egan”
