“Andrew linked our 60s maisonette to the garages below. Here's why we hired him, and how it turned out: 1. Listening: We interviewed six (!) architects and he took most account of us, our tastes and how we live, rather than trying to foist a grand plan on us. It felt like a creative partnership not a takeover. 2. Focus on small details: Our project hinged on where to put the stairs. Andrew took us to another project, where he'd included an upstairs bathroom in a tiny cottage by moving the stairs. He'd thought it through in fine detail and it worked. 3.
