“We used Gavin Jefcoate to design our new kitchen extension and complete remodel of the downstairs of our home. It's nearly 3 years since work started and we are still as pleased with the results as we were when it was first completed. The initial meetings quickly demonstrated that Gavin understood our brief of what we wanted and why we needed it. The resulting plan was a really exciting change for the house with bold creative elements which also integrated the practical solutions that at the time we were desperate for.
Throughout the build Jefcoate Anderson provided project management which took away most of the stresses that go hand in hand with altering any home to this extent. We are still hugely pleased with the results and would strongly recommend using this firm if you are considering a build project.”

“Studio AWA recently designed and project-managed the renovation of our house. The brief was to open up the ground floor to let in more natural light, and to make more efficient use of the living space. Studio AWA spent a significant amount of time at the outset of the project speaking to us to better understand our desired outcome and getting an understanding of our style preferences. This time was invaluable as it allowed Studio AWA to suggest ideas that we had not considered and which had a huge impact on the finished product. This included enlarging and adding additional windows, and inserting large sliding glass doors at the rear of the house. Studio AWA also provided kitchen and bathroom design services for us and, based on the high quality of this work, we asked for additional interior design help.
Studio AWA provided a comprehensive service which included the selection and hiring of the quantity surveyor, engineers and building contractor, and full supervision and coordination of all the works. We were given regular updates on progress throughout.
We are really happy with the finished product which has met the objectives of our brief and gone some way beyond. Our home has been transformed to provide us with a more modern, brighter, open plan living space. We would be happy to recommend Studio AWA to anyone.”

“2B were commissioned to provide concept drawings and take the design to planning approval and subsequent building warrant issue. At all stages they were courteous, kept to appointments made and listened to our requirements. The designs produced were of a high standard and matched with what our expectations were.
We wanted a shell provision for an extension and some internal alterations for a full house renovation and they have assisted in other aspects as part of the remit which has helped us tremendously.

“We selected Martin and Louise from Urban Creatures to design and manage the build of our house because we liked their portfolio and found that they understood our brief. As a result, the design process of the house did not take long and they provided many good ideas. Obtaining planning permission for our house was quite problematic, but Urban Creatures were very professional in dealing with the planning department. Despite them working to our budget, the quotes from the builders were at least 1/3 above our budget, which led to some changes and omissions. But at least that saved us from a lot of nasty surprises once the building work started. Urban Creatures supervised the whole building process and we had fortnightly meetings with both Urban Creatures and the builder to discuss progress and issues. Again, this was done in a very professional manner. Overall, we are very happy with the service provided by Urban Creatures. We would recommend them to others and would not hesitate to use them again.”

“We extended, renovated and altered the ground floor of our rural cottage.
Our Architect helped us visualise ideas and consider various alternatives, something we found essential at the pre-contract stage. His patience and attention to our needs at that stage helped us produce the result we wanted in the end. He made suggestions re layout and materials that we might not have otherwise considered.
He provided the necessary drawings and plans and liaised with planners, builders and other consultants when required. Once the build got underway, his involvement, as agreed, lessened but he was still available to us, to provide re-assurance, another opinion and technical experience. Our builders were also able to contact him for clarification and advice throughout the project.”

“Sandy from Block 9 designed for us a large and very quirky 'butterfly roof' extension which is a delight to use as a day to day family eating and living space. The design is beautiful and was delivered despite the troublesome builder that we'd chosen! (Sorry, Sandy) Every aspect of the design and planning process was executed in a short time-frame with even last minute changes approved quickly. The overall result has been to add a bedroom, an extra bathroom and a massive living space to our modest terraced house.
I'd recommend Block 9 for even the trickiest of projects.”

“We hired Jens to reconfigure our 3 bedroom apartment and couldn't be happier with the results. From the initial consultation it was clear that we wanted Jens to manage the project and this took so much stress out of the whole experience. The flat had a complete overhaul; structurally we knocked down walls and made new door openings, we moved the kitchen from the back to the front allowing much more light. Jens was superb not only in understanding and helping our vision but in managing all the requisite paperwork with the various authorities. He found us an excellent developer in Prichard Developments and when we were struggling for interior inspiration introduced us to Julian of Caybo interiors. All parties worked excellently together. We couldn't be happier with the results and thoroughly recommend our architect, neighbour and now friend Jens.”
