San Francisco OriginalThis San Francisco living room’s existing fireplace, with its concrete base, glass screen and plaster chimney, was already a favorite of the homeowners, so it was the designer’s task to elevate the rest of the room’s decor. “We added the custom bronze mirrored wall and walnut shelves on either side of the fireplace as an opportunity to add storage and reflect additional light into the room. The walnut shelves match the custom bar and slatted wall so everything feels cohesive,” says Lauren Geremia of Geremia Design.
Family Room Seating to Handle a CrowdIn the family room, a hefty reclaimed-wood coffee table stands up to the two substantial sofas. Custom end tables by Urbanology Designs mix chunky wood tops with black metal platforms. Round poufs and layers of dhurries soften the room. This space can handle a crowd. 4. Sliding art panel. This living room design employs a similar solution on a larger scale. A large panel slides across a track over the TV to hide it. Art is mounted on the panel so it’s not just an expanse of white.
