Topanga Canyon Hideaway
A rain garden filled with grasses and grass-like plants lies at the base of the planted slope to collect the water that comes from the rest of their yard, their uphill neighbors’ yard and their downspouts during rain storms. This allows the water to remain on their property and slowly percolate down into the water table below. This collecting of storm water is the Watershed Approach and one of the sustainable garden practices that we use.
