Sustainable Case Study House
The ICF system used in this home is called Faswall and is made from recycled wood pallets. The material is shredded, reconstituted and injected into molds along with a Portland cement mixture, making the blocks insect and mold resistant. The faces of the end product create a natural look and texture. Some constructed Faswalls were left exposed within the home, offering texture and a glimpse of the bones of the home. This wall is at the landing to the circular galvanized steel stairs leading to the lower level. Flooring is bamboo and window trim is fir. LED lighting is used for the wall art.
