Mediterranean Gardens
Andalusia was designed by the renowned early 20th Century architect, George Washington Smith. The property had been neglected for years which gave The Alidrich Company a blank canvas to work from. A new in-ground fountain in the entry court and a Mediterranean planting design compliments the Spanish / Moorish feel of the architecture. This garden design was featured in The Los Angeles Times Sunday Magazine Section.
Alcala Lane has somewhat outdated architecture that the client wanted to soften. We designed the entry courtyard using a Mediterranean plant palette and a meandering simulated flagstone path to the front door. See the Sunset Magazine article dated May 2009. The custom designed courtyard fountain is the focal point of the garden and supplies the calming sounds that only moving water can offer. Both these gardens are located in Montecito.
