Josh Wynne ConstructionI built this on my property for my aging father who has some health issues. Handicap accessibility was a factor in design. His dream has always been to try retire to a cabin in the woods. This is what he got.
It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath with a great room. It is 600 sqft of AC space. The footprint is 40' x 26' overall.
The site was the former home of our pig pen. I only had to take 1 tree to make this work and I planted 3 in its place. The axis is set from root ball to root ball. The rear center is aligned with mean sunset and is visible across a wetland.
The goal was to make the home feel like it was floating in the palms. The geometry had to simple and I didn't want it feeling heavy on the land so I cantilevered the structure beyond exposed foundation walls. My barn is nearby and it features old 1950's "S" corrugated metal panel walls. I used the same panel profile for my siding. I ran it vertical to match the barn, but also to balance the length of the structure and stretch the high point into the canopy, visually. The wood is all Southern Yellow Pine. This material came from clearing at the Babcock Ranch Development site. I ran it through the structure, end to end and horizontally, to create a seamless feel and to stretch the space. It worked. It feels MUCH bigger than it is.
I milled the material to specific sizes in specific areas to create precise alignments. Floor starters align with base. Wall tops adjoin ceiling starters to create the illusion of a seamless board. All light fixtures, HVAC supports, cabinets, switches, outlets, are set specifically to wood joints. The front and rear porch wood has three different milling profiles so the hypotenuse on the ceilings, align with the walls, and yield an aligned deck board below. Yes, I over did it. It is spectacular in its detailing. That's the benefit of small spaces.
Concrete counters and IKEA cabinets round out the conversation.

Clémence Jeanjan Décoratrice d'intérieurMon client venait d'acquérir un appartement sur plan, non loin de Rouen.
Il désirait être accompagné pour créer un intérieur à son image, un esprit industriel, masculin. Il tenait à intégrer dans l'aménagement, ses meubles déjà en sa possession.
L'entrée assez vaste a été délimitée grâce à une verrière et une mise en peinture totale ( murs et plafond) noir. Côté mobilier, j'ai conseillé à mon client de placer son armoire classeur vintage en complément d'un banc habillé de coussins couleur terracotta.
La cuisine sur mesure a été choisie en noire et chêne naturel pour une continuité harmonieuse. L'espace de vie avec la vue sur la terrasse est chaleureux et masculin, avec l'alliance du cuir marron, du chêne des tables basses et métal du meuble tv.
Nous avons créé un espace bibliothèque délimité par du color zoning, en terracotta, mettant ainsi en valeur des étagères suspendues en métal et bois.
Côté chambre, nous avons conservé l'harmonie couleur de l'appartement, gris et terracotta. Je tenais vraiment à traiter cette pièce comme une chambre d'hôtel, j'ai donc créé un sousbassement gris en accord avec la tête de lit. Le reste des murs ont été peint en beige clair. Les rideaux ont été choisi lourds et épais afin de créer une ambiance chaleureuse et cossue.
Un espace dressing a été crée sur mesure, avec des portes miroirs pour agrandir la pièce. Nous retrouvons ici aussi, l'harmonie couleurs, fil conducteur du projet.
Une page blanche, et quelques mois nous ont suffi pour créer une ambiance industrielle et répondant aux désirs de mon client.

Nous avons dessiné, pour toutes les pièces de l'appartement, des meubles sur mesure optimisant les usages et offrant des rangements inexistants.
Le meuble du salon fait office de dressing, lorsque celui-ci se transforme en couchage d'appoint.

Laurie Yapp DesignThis is a major update to a timeless home built in the 80's. We updated the kitchen by maximizing the length of the space and placing a coffee bar at the far side. We also made the longest island possible in order to make the kitchen feel large and for storage. In addition we added and update to the powder room and the reading nook on the second floor. We also updated the flooring to add a herringbone pattern in the hallway. Finally, as this family room was sunken, we levelled off the drop down to make for a better look and flow.

C’est ainsi que ce local à usage de bureaux fut acquis par les propriétaires dans le but de le convertir en appartement destiné à la location hôtelière.
Deux mots d’ordre pour cette transformation complète : élégance et raffinement, le tout en intégrant deux chambres et deux salles d’eau dans cet espace de forme carrée, dont seul un mur comportait des fenêtres.
Le travail du plan et de l’optimisation spatiale furent cruciaux dans cette rénovation, où les courbes ont naturellement pris place dans la forme des espaces et des agencements afin de fluidifier les circulations.
Moulures, parquet en Point de Hongrie et pierres naturelles se sont associées à la menuiserie et tapisserie sur mesure afin de créer un écrin fonctionnel et sophistiqué, où les lignes tantôt convexes, tantôt concaves, distribuent un appartement de trois pièces haut de gamme.

Su hogar es una joya de la arquitectura de finales del XIX, en un bellísimo edificio con un maravilloso patio interior andaluz , y con sus viviendas de bellos balcones y techos altísimos, una cuidada arquitectura y preciosas vistas a la catedral de Málaga
Su propietaria buscaba sencillez, y comodidad, pero todas sus elecciones tenían un estilo muy claro y actual. Esta bella casa rezuma elegancia y serenidad en todas sus estancias y no nos extraña que estos propietarios no quieran volver a mudarse…
En Aldea hemos decorado fundamentalmente la zona del salón, el hall, los dormitorios y parte de su terraza.
El salón presenta una planta diáfana, con la cocina y el comedor integrados en él:
En la zona destinada al descanso encontramos para la TV un precioso mueble en nogal de la firma italiana San Giacomo.
Los sofás en cruda tienen formas envolventes y llevan cojines alegres para dar colorido al espacio.
A la izquierda de esta zona y bajo el ventanal que da al patio interior encontramos otro mueble de la misma firma combinado en nogal y canapa.
El salón se completa con una cocina con mobiliario muy actual en blanco mate, con los electrodomésticos integrados y una comedor adosado a ella en madera.
