Home Storage
The Entry room or Mud room is the first room we enter in the house so it should not be neglected design-wise. Being the transition space between inside and out it requires home storage space for your coats and shoes and dirty or wet clothing.
The open design is especially important for children who will use the open hook over a closed closet system. As well, since it typically is a narrow space, the open design makes it feel bigger than a closed closet system.
A small bench in the design is ideal in order to sit and take your shoes on and off. Storage under the bench for your shoes and a few shelves to store backpacks, hats, gloves and umbrellas.
