Hillside Terrace
With a new deck and house addition, the clients for this project wished to have an outdoor patio on which they could sit and enjoy their fier pit. A bare fence and, with the exception of mature trees, unplanted steep slope took up most of the backyard.
The rear slope was re-graded, preserving the mature tree canopy, with a sculptural retaining wall reclaiming additional even ground. The mosaic bluestone patio enhances the relaxed character of the property and is finished with a bluestone band for a clean edge. Surrounding native plantings add multi-season interest, with evergreen trees at the perimeter softening the fence. Completed while at Dan Gordon Landscape Architects.
