Entertainment Wall

This entertainment wall was the typical AZ wall with drywall niches to the left of an out of place fireplace. The niche shelves were far too deep and lacked personality. I designed this unit to add texture and interest to a very plain room, detracting from it's "bowling alley" appearance. (Long, narrow room) This unit is a combination of slate ledgestone, hung on the vertical versus horizontally, sleek, flat panel cabinetry and lighting in all of the right places. This room was fun to do! I got to play with ethnic styles in small doses, adding a touch of Asian flare with the chandelier in the Entry and a fan in the living room (picture to come) and the Mediterranean feel of the medallion below the chandelier blends seamlessly. The medallion- laser cut travertine and marble, is surrounded by porcelain tile (a great way to maximize your budget and still look like stone ((without the maintenance of real stone)). To add even more texture, the entire living room is covered in a fantastic herringbone patterned berber in a deep golden brown. With a thick underlayment (heavy weighted pad) underneath, this is a luxurious option and a comfort to walk on! Bring interest to your other niche walls (recesses) by painting them in deep or bolder colors than the other walls, like I did here- pulling tones out of my slate on the wall unit.
