Nar Design GroupThis gorgeous European Poggenpohl Kitchen is the culinary center of this new modern home for a young urban family. The homeowners had an extensive list of objectives for their new kitchen. It needed to accommodate formal and non-formal entertaining of guests and family, intentional storage for a variety of items with specific requirements, and use durable and easy to maintain products while achieving a sleek contemporary look that would be a stage and backdrop for their glorious artwork collection.
Solution: A large central island acts as a gathering place within the great room space. The tall cabinetry items such as the ovens and refrigeration are grouped on the wall to keep the rest of the kitchen very light and open. Luxury Poggenpohl cabinetry and Caesarstone countertops were selected for their supreme durability and easy maintenance.
Warm European oak flooring is contrasted by the gray textured Poggenpohl cabinetry flattered by full width linear Poggenphol hardware. The tall aluminum toe kick on the island is lit from underneath to give it a light and airy luxurious feeling. To further accent the illuminated toe, the surface to the left of the range top is fully suspended 18” above the finished floor.
A large amount of steel and engineering work was needed to achieve the floating of the large Poggenpohl cabinet at the end of the peninsula. The conversation is always, “how did they do that?”

Davonport Kitchen & HomeThe island houses the Wolf rangetop which features four dual-stacked sealed gas burners and a griddle/teppan yaki plate as well as a prep sink. This makes the island a very practical workspace. The walnut breakfast bar set along one side of the island creates a place for guests to sit without being separated from the chef when cooking.
Shannon Ggem DesignLook how clean and visually quiet this kitchen can be. There was so little exposed wall left after the cabinetry went in that we didn't overthink using black on the walls. Of course it doesn't "make the room dark". This room has ample light to begin with and at night, a fantastic city lights view is out those doors, so it's as if the walls recede.
The Wood StudioThis Modern kitchen features a mix of hand-finished natural walnut and high-gloss flat panels. The two-level island is over 14 feet long, and has a generous seating area.

Davonport Kitchen & HomeThe informal dining area integrated at this end of the island provides a safe space for the children to sit whilst Carla and Ben are cooking. Bearing in mind the need for this room to work for a family, a designated safe area for the children was necessary. The pendant lights above the table echo the Merlot glass splashback, bringing different elements of the room together.
Nar Design GroupThe client of this beautiful kitchen remodel was a true chef! She requested a hefty list of pro-style appliances along with functional and durable finishes. An industrial, modern and edgy design was achieved in the finishes and materials selected- allowing the client's colorful Alebrije collection from Oaxca, Mexico to be celebrated! The large central island, finished in Dekton Aura, has the combined functions of seating for 4, food preparation, and display during the cooking presentations the client puts on in her home. The subtle gray tones of Dekton Sirocco on the kitchen's perimeter provides a beautiful and durable surface for washing & prepping at the 7' Galley Sink or cooking at the 48" Pro Gas Wolf Range. Cabinetry by Crystal is finished in a combination of matte grey laminate with aluminum color edge banding & pearl back painted glass. The warm natural walnut cabinetry accents complement the herringbone oak hardwood floors.
