Cedar Enclosed Vegetable Garden
This is the basin of a 75' dry creek bed which is connected to a 2500 gallon water holding tank which was abandoned during construction. Holes were drilled into the holding tank to allow ground water to fill the tank (high water table) and we have a pump with a depth sensor (think toilet tank system) which activates 1-3 times a day and pumps about 2500 gallons of water through the dry creek bed and into the basin.
This keeps the japanese iris very happy and growing like crazy, almost like a tidal basin. We are currently constructing another 30' pondless system on this residential site adjacent to the main entrance to the residence which will be connected to their home control system and have a pump which is adjustable from 4,000 to 8,000 gph.
