Birdrock
This cobble lined bioswale handles approximately half of the site's rainwater runoff. Water is collected from roof drains, landscape drains, deck drains and is released at the top end of the swale. As it flows through it is filtered, slowed and absorbed by the ground below. At the end of the swale there is a dry well, or a large pit filled with gravel. During large storm events this is allowed to eventually outflow to the curbside. This is one of the main LEED design components.
