Chestnut was decimated by a fungal blight in the early/mid 20thC and is no longer available as a fresh sawn wood. This is a practical recreation of the classic barn floor. Its relaxed, warm appearance puts people at ease. It is made from hardwood that celebrates wear marks, knots, saw marks, nail holes and the wood’s naturally occurring vagaries. For many, this is the "holy grail" of salvaged woods, highly sought after and cherished. This is the floor that will give you that rugged look.
