Hallway paint colour help!

Hi all. Having just moved to our new home I'm embarking on decorating everywhere. There are a lot of inherited features which I just can't afford to change.
As you can see from pics there are marble tiles on floor and black iron staircase these have to remain. The table is outta here. I intend to replace the table with perhaps a bronzed metal and glass table. I also intend to add a photo wall on the curved wall ( before it curves ! ). My dilemma is the paint colour. Anyone got any suggestions? I want to darken the walls but remain neutral. The hall is North facing and only gets light from two side windows. Any help would be much appreciated.

(3) commentiHello Will, if you want to 'conceal' the fireplace you just need to paint the brick part as the other walls. Otherwise, if you want to make it stand out, you can paint the mantel in a rusty color, similar to bricks. It would be nice also a wooden beam. Bye!... mostra di piùAiuto cucina casa in affitto
(13) commentiGabriella non disperare...io dipingerei di nero matt tutti i mobili della cucina: si raccorderanno con la cucina a libera installazione e avranno il giusto carattere per abbinarsi a pavimento e rivestimento. non aggiungerei fantasie, visto che ci sono già sul pavimento e rivestimento. in questi casi i "difetti" non vanno mascherati (che tanto e' impossibile), ma vanno cavalcati per farne un punto di forza (prendila come una sfida...a te non piace vincere facile, giusto???)... mostra di piùIdee Restauro vecchie porte
(9) commentiPer quello che riguarda i vetri, dipende se vuole il passaggio di luce o meno. Si può optare per dei vetri satinati o per una verniciatura (il "lacobel" se industriale piuttosto che una verniciatura DIY). Ovviamente in caso di verniciatura, il passaggio di luce sarebbe occluso. Altrimenti delle porte che diano l'effetto bianco/satinato con dei decori in trasparenza o colorati possono essere una ulteriore soluzione, anche se non a tutti piace. (20) commentiSono d’accordo con Showroom, il tuo corridoio è di carattere già così e anche con la lampada che hai scelto, a me piace proprio perché una volta accesa sarà un bel punto luce non invasivo e dal colore neutro. Ti avrei consigliato di scurire solo la parete corta, dove nella foto la porta é chiusa, ma in effetti potrebbe “stroppiare”. In ogni caso non continuare assolutamente con le righe! Per carità! Un po’ sono carine, troppe sono un pigiama.... mostra di più

10 anni faI am going to suggest the opposite, I would go dark on the walls and if they are in perfect condition I would use a satin finish. I think you idea of a bronze or gold accent piece would be great. I particularly love the chest in this picture because the frame is black like your black iron.
