Help with garden design.
The garden is very square with a slight slope, looking from the house there is a hedge on the right hand side and a stone retaining wall to the left, you will notice from the pictures the neighbours house sits higher then ours and their fence has 4ft panels and 6ft posts, not very attractive.
The stone wall does need rebuilding. There is also a small patio at the side of the extension that's mostly in the shade. We would love the garden to look longer keeping a patio and shed at the bottom different paving/shape with perhaps raised boarders by the wall and plants with colours all year round, small water feature if possible and lighting. Any ideas would be gratefully received thanks

7 anni faWould your neighbours allow you to put a trellis on top of the fence to improve the appearance with the posts?
I agree a circular lawn would look good. We had our garden done this summer and have a circular lawn and it makes the whole space feel wider and bigger. With a bit of luck I can give you a before and after picture!

(28) commentiSOLUZIONE D_Questa secondo me è la migliore (la mia compagna ha dei dubbi, che poi vi scrivo) ma comporta seri investimenti e forse nonostante quelli sarebbe comunque infattibile. Ho rigirato tutto! Adesso la zona giorno è molto più lineare, la cucina dialoga col salotto, e con un'ampia porta a vetri potrebbero essere considerati due ambienti unici. Il ripostiglio viene aperto sull'ingresso, e al posto della cucina, udite udite, un secondo bagno finestrato! Le camere sarebbero entrambe molto grandi, una avrebbe un terrazzo da paura. Problemi: attacchi acqua e gas nuova cucina; attacchi acque scure nuovo bagno; la mia compagna dice che perdiamo in cucina il terrazzo più grande e che il ricambio d'aria non è eccezionale così...... mostra di piùbagno in resina e parquet INSIEME? e piatto doccia con ciottoli? help!
(8) commentiSalve a b, io le consiglio vivamente, di utilizzare la resina per il pavimento ed il piatto doccia, per spezzare potrebbe optare per la rifinitura della doccia con delle piastrelle a mosaico trasparente con fughe a contrasto e le pareti chiare, giocando con dei colori come verde mela, blu ceruleo, o anche un semplice bianco, negli accessori da bagno (asciugamani, scopino, porta sapone, tappeti e tenda doccia, qualora aveste intenzione di utilizzarla, altrimenti un bel box doccia opaco a vetro sarebbe l'ideale) uno spazio consono,non troppo scuro ed adatto. l'idea dei ciottoli potrebbe essere optata, ma eviterei in quanto si potrebbe creare confusione di materiali,ed a lungo andare potrebbe anche stufare. sperando di essere stato d'aiuto, la saluto e le auguro buon week.-end... mostra di piùhelp - design e spazi interni - monolocale 50mq
(24) commentiCiao, io penso che dovresti in prima battuta capire quali sono le priorità, anche di uso e, conseguentemente il progetto. Se, come spesso accade, la gran parte del tempo lo si passa nella zona giorno, quella è l’area che dev’essere privilegiata, anche a costo di compromessi sulla camera. Quindi terrei la zona giorno verso il giardino in maniera da potenziare il legame interno/esterno. Poi lavorerei alla ricerca del compromesso sulla camera che, come giustamente detto, non può essere cieca. Come? Ci vorrebbe un progetto ma si può andare da un open space, tipo mini “studio” newyorkese, a partizioni vetrate, a arredi da studiare su misura che creino una separazione parziale. Infine non mi pare di aver visto riferimenti di altezza, che possono aprire ulteriori possibilità. Anni fa, ad esempio, avevo fatto un mini studio 25mq sui navigli, ed essendo al piano terra, decidemmo di scavare per mettere zona notte su soppalco (nel caso vuoi dare un occhio la trovi tra i miei progetti). Insomma: io partirei da elementi essenziali come la scelta dell’ambiente da mettere in relazione diretta con giardino. Thanks Angie I thought about a trellis, unfortunately the gentleman who owes the property does not care about the appearance of his house or who he puts in them, his property is not insured and he does not get references for the people he rents to, so far we have had a cannibis factory, a couple with dogs that never took them for a walk or cleaned up after them, so you can imagine the smell and flys that bad we couldn't open our windows, when we asked the said neighbour politely if they could clean up after their dogs we were given a mouthful of abusive and the landlord didn't want to know in his words not his problem, everything is done for cheapness hence the small fence. We did think of having a new wall built to the height off the post, but as it is a retaining wall just for the materials is was going to cost in excess of £4,000 with labour on top as the builder said with little to show for it, so we were thinking of plants to hid it without taking over the garden as like you we are not gardens we don't know what would be suitable down the side of the house is also very shady.
