After many years of researching and talking to landscapers about our backyard project we were hooked after talking to Angel at Promised Path. Our project was big and very difficult, but Angel was completely confident that his crew could do the job, and they did. Our job involved demolition of all the concrete and hauling it all out by hand. It was a huge job, but his guys worked from the minute they arrived in the morning to the end of the day…always smiling and always so polite. Also included in the remodel was a new deck, new concrete, retaining wall, custom built BBQ, fire pit, new irrigation with drains, lighting, and planting. We love our new space, and we could not be happier to have worked with Angel, Salvador and their hardworking crew. We highly recommend Promised Path.

We were looking for a sleek and contemporary look in landscaping our new home and Promised Path delivered! Angel, the owner, is great to work with. He has an excellent eye for design and detail, is very communicative, and knowledgeable. Salvador, the project manager, was equally amazing, easy to talk to, and extremely organized. The crew were very hardworking, respectful, and dedicated in making the project a reality. Of course any large scale projects has a few hiccups. Promised Path did a great job transforming our backyard from a patch of grass and cement into a beautiful space my family can use. We had a basic idea of what we wanted (fireplace, BBQ island etc), but Angel and his crew took it to the next level with a functional and beautiful living area. I think everyone has heard of the nightmare contractor stories. However, we've been so fortunate to have Angel, Sal and the rest of the crew working on our remodel. During the pandemic, we built a pool, totally redid our hardscape in the front/back yard, built a BBQ island, and remodeled inside our home as well. From day one, Angel has been very communicative with not only us, but the other two contractors that we had working on our home. When problems arose, specifically, we had some discoloration with our retaining wall and the stucco didn't match the exterior of our home, he was quick to address the issue. In fact, he went as far to hire the same company who did our exterior home stucco to get the exact match at no cost to us. Also, when we had some issues come up with our HOA, he participated on our zoom meeting to help resolve any concerns our HOA might have had. Even though, we're not completely finished with our home, we've been so pleased with the overall aesthetic and craftsmanship of the work that he has completed thus far. Angel clearly stands by his work and takes pride in the business that he's created.

We recently complete a complete backyard remodel project with Promised Path and couldn't be happier with the result. From design, to demolition, to construction to completion, Promised Path handled it all and the results are getting jaw-dropping reactions from our friends and family. We hired angel from Promised Path Landscaping on June 29th 2021. We gave him a deposit of $1,000 to design our backyard. July came and we had not heard from him. We have not received any plans from him. We called and he did not respond, we texted he did not respond. September 19th we asked for $1,000 deposit to be returned he refused. I hired Promised Path to do both hardscaping and landscaping at my house. The job included building a multi-tiered walkway from the sidewalk to the front door (including lights and pilasters), building a retaining wall in the backyard, and installing decorative travertine in certain areas of the walway. After the hardscape construction was complete, Promised Path planted a few dozen plants throughout the yard, installed a drip sprinkler system, and installed landscape lighting. I was extremely pleased with the work Promised Path did. Our yard came out even better than we had hoped. Promised Path had many suggestions, such as which style retaining wall would look good, which we really appreciate. The customer service from Angel and Salvador was superb. They were really helpful and flexible through the entire project, and were willing to do many little things to really make our house look great. Some of these things were in the original plan and some were not. I have worked with many contractors and would only recommend a few of them. Promised Path is definitely one of those companies.

Angle and his landscape crew created exactly what was designed and with such professionalism on a difficult project in Del Mar. This was a layout with very specific details and an intricate build. As a designer, I am always searching for professional landscape companies to work with to install the vision I have laid out for the client. So far, I have only been impressed by a few out there and Promised Path is one of the good ones. The work was done very well and Angle was very easy to work with. Angel, the owner, and I had a very open conversation during our 1st meeting where I shared my design ideas and how we were going to use our backyard. While other landscaping companies would not even bother to quote or respond back, he came to our 2nd meeting with finished plans with complete details including additional design ideas, plant selection and suggestions on how to make my landscape design better along with a very attractive quote. The project started on time and finished 2 weeks earlier than planned. They never pulled the crew (great guys, very considerate, great workmanship, always on time) from my project. Did not come up with any hidden charges and were great to work with through out the entire time even including the slight revisions I made during the construction. Salvador, the project manager, was on-site almost every day but was in constant contact during the entire project regardless and always got back to me very quickly each time. I highly recommend them and now would not bother calling anyone else.

After multiple bids from other landscape companies, we ultimately decided to hire Promised Path for our complete front and backyard landscape renovation. After many conversations with Salvador and Angel, my husband and I felt confident that having Salvador as the Project Manager our project would be completed on time, within budget and up to our standards. Angel and his crew brought our design to life in record time and it looks beautiful! We used another company for the design and had Angel bid on the design last minute - we wanted to get started right away. He was the lower and most honest bid so we went with him. His crew was great and did very quick work that turned out to also be very high quality. I debated on a 4 star review only for a moment because I do with that Angel had communicated more at each phase of the project because I felt like it was almost happening too fast and some of the details we lost control of. In hindsight I would have taken more initiative and been more of a watch dog. But regardless, the project turned out amazing and we are in love with our new backyard and I would refer anyone to him.

Promised Path was recommended to us by Alison Wellington Toth, a landscape pool designer. We could not have made a better choice than Angel and his entire crew. We were in a new home, so we were starting with a blank slate. When we first met with Angel, we knew immediately, by his manner that he would be great. We began discussions with Promised Path in July of 2017 to do a complete backyard remodel. Our pool deck and surrounding area were in desperate need of an upgrade from the original 1976 build. Right from the start, we felt understood and comfortable with Sal. He was knowledgeable, listened to our ideas and offered some great ones of his own. We broke ground in September and by mid-November had a gorgeous backyard! The professionalism shown from the top down cannot be highlighted enough. We were kept informed every day and the worksite was tidied up daily. If you want a reliable, honest and talented company you have found it!

Very glad we hired Angel and his team at Promised Path! His modern/contemporary aesthetic and hard-working team made for a winning combo. Design was a breeze since he knew all the details we liked (sharing images on Houzz worked well too). Unlike other landscapers we had worked with, he was a wealth of knowledge with both hardscape and plants (lots of guys say they can do the job, but in the end they don't always use quality parts or know how to design well and make things flow). We recently installed a pool in our backyard and hired Promised Path to do all of the landscaping and concrete work around the pool. Angel and his team did a fantastic job and the backyard looks amazing. Angel was easy to work with and provided excellent suggestions on how to make the project look great. Throughout the process I really got the impression that they wanted to produce an amazing result, as opposed to just getting the job finished and moving on. We have had bad experiences in the past with landscapers who start the job, then disappear for weeks to work on other projects before returning. Promised Path had the resources to do the job, and once they started, they continued through completion. Overall an excellent experience and excellent results.

My husband and I are engineers, therefore quality and workmanship are important to us. We were pretty skeptical with most landscaping contractors with the deliver of their work. Finding a landscaping company that is trustworthy is not easy. We can’t be more happy with the results of Promised Path Landscaping’s work. We had some mis-communication with the plan as how we wanted the wooden deck to be. Angel was willing to rework it without making it a big deal. That alone is worth $1000s, because he made the process stress free and reworked it to perfection. Our new patio and deck turned out great. We worked with Promised Path (Sal) to put in our backyard from plans developed by another landscape architect. We contacted numerous landscaping companies who either were too busy or just didn't call back after the estimate process which was very disappointing. I finally located PP from this website. Sal did the estimate and won the job. He was honest, competitive, and dependable and really the reason we selected PP. We particularly appreciated how PP made recommendations to improve on the original plan and to offer cost savings alternatives. Update: After posting this pleasant review on Promised Path Landscape, I am reluctant, but feel it is necessary to retract this review. Promised Path was engaged a second time to complete this project as part of a phased-approach. Angel, the owner, who worked with us on the first phase, came to quote the second phase and meet with us. After 3 months and several phone calls we never received a response. This was very disappointing and opened our eyes to someone who is completely non-responsive and unable to commit to completing a job that he agreed to finish. Homeowners who spend a significant amount of money with these contractors need rights. And need a place to speak the truth about contractor who over-promise and under-deliver. Did our first phase turn out great? Yes it did, however, their were some complications we had during the first phase that should've opened our eyes. Now we know that we had dealt with a contractor who wasn't really interested in our project, but was more than happy to cash our checks. ****************************************************************************************************************** After buying my house in July, I was excited by to move in, but overjoyed to fix my backyard. We were lucky to buy a house that had an extremely large backyard, however, we had no idea what we were going to do. We truly had a blank canvas. After having 3 contractors come by, all with average to poor ideas; we finally found Promised Path Landscape. Angel, Owner of Promised Path, was excited to see the yard and before we knew it, a design was presented. The one thing that stood out with Angel from day one, was that he was more than willing to accept our ideas and incorporate them into our design. That was important to me because often times I have an idea of what I want. Angel used our feedback and style preferences to design a beautiful concrete patio, pergola and built-in BBQ. But that wasn’t all. Angel also presented a cool idea for a raised deck lounge area at the back of the property with a beautiful concrete step walkway. With a design complete, we were excited to start! And not only were we excited to start, but we gave Angel a deadline that was tough to meet. After signing on the dotted line, we still had three weeks before shovels were in the ground. And then one day later, Angel called me and said “I want to start now if that is ok with you…” Yes! Angel and his crew are efficient and effective. They had demo done quickly and were simultaneously preparing the large patio for concrete. A sign of a well-organized team and company. Construction went great and as the El Nino approached the timeline became even more critical. Angel and his crew worked fast and even accepted one major change order that added to the scope. After 3-4 weeks of construction, Phase 1 of our project was done and we were happy. Even when minor issues arose with subcontractors, Angel and his main guy were there to assist and ensure the project was completed. We couldn’t be more happy! We first heard about them through a neighbor, so we went and saw their work and we were really impressed, we went ahead and contacted them and they came to give us a quote right away. The meeting was very pleasant, we hit it off right away and thought we could have great chemistry through the process. We gave them our deposit, and the rest is history. The CEO kept telling us "dont worry you will be really happy" and my goodness, we were astounded when we saw the finished work, our back yard looks like a magazine photo, simply sensational!! The quality was first class as well as the customer service. I strongly recommend them, anybody that comes to our house to visit they immediately comment on our backyard! Aside from the first class work they do, more than anything they were trustworthy which is something we were really looking for.

We needed a complete overhaul of our entire back and side yard, which is probably at LEAST double the size of most homes' yards, and easily the scariest yard they've ever seen. We knew it was going to be a lot of work, a lot of demo, and we were on a pretty tight budget. We hired Promised Path based on some coworkers' recommendations and we loved their designs. They worked with our budget, took our ideas, and pictures that we sent them of things we liked, and worked with us to put together a great design that took into account the functionality, use of space, and water-wise landscaping we had in mind. The end result was something that all of our friends and family say looks like is straight out of a home magazine. After the project was over, they were so busy, but they still tried to be available to help us troubleshoot the irrigation or provide advice on the plants to figure out what the best watering schedules were. Our decomposed granite pathways seemed to be still loose in certain areas, and they didn't hesitate to come back to fix it, and now it's great. Angel, Salvador, and the rest of the guys are professional, understanding, and great to work with. Communication was sometimes difficult because they have various jobs going on at once, so we make sure to follow up, and in the end, they always end up pulling through and delivering an amazing, functional, unique space that works for the type of home we have. We would definitely hire them again if we had to do it all over.

I got a small yard, about 24' by 32' in a twin home. I told Angel my vision and he came up with a design drawing. I called in a few times asking to modify the design and Angel was very patient and accommodating. Once a start date was set the guys showed up every day, worked hard, kept an organized work space and got it done on time and on budget. even after the job was done and paid for I asked for touchup and the guys showed up the same weekend to address it. great service and care. My backyard was a mess, nothing but dirt and rocks without any useable space. Now I have a beautiful outdoor living space.

With plans for a complete re-do in our very large back and side yards - including a patio structure, pool, and all new drought tolerant landscaping - we met with many landscapers before deciding to work with Angel. It was a great decision. Angel has a passion for what he does. He's enthusiastic and creative yet thoughtful about the look AND the functionality of the space being created. From design to implementation Angel provided guidance and recommendations while always remaining open and flexible to our ideas and requests - including changes from what was originally planned (scope of the job and/or design) or revisions to work that was done. With materials, he brought samples that we could choose from or brought us directly to the places where we could see and choose the materials ourselves. His work crew is made up of a team of men who show up on time, work incredibly hard and are kind and respectful - something we see as a reflection of Angel. We like that his team stands by their work, continuing to come by over the next 3 months to ensure that everything continues to work properly and look good. We couldn't be happier with the finished result, just stunning!

We used Promised Path to do a turf removal project in our front yard and backyard. They did a great job and finished on schedule and on budget. Angel was on time and his crew was professional. My husband and I just completed a front and back yard remodel in Del Mar Heights with Promised Path. We initially found them on yelp because of the great reviews. When we looked more closely at their portfolio, both here and on houzz, we liked their aesthetic, so we decided to give them a try. Overall, we had a great experience. During the design phase, Angel was very receptive to our ideas and spent as much time as we needed getting things right (we had a very specific concept in mind but really needed his help to realize it). During the implementation phase, his crew was very professional and always showed up on time. They completed the project on time and without any issues. Lastly of course, the result is beautiful and we couldn't be happier. We now have a beautiful wood fence, new concrete walkway, drought tolerant landscaping throughout, vegetable beds, and still a nice patch of grass in the back for our kids to play in. Everything is inline with the contemporary look that we were going for. I also really appreciate the fact that they stick around and check in over the next 3 months to make sure things are getting established.

Angel's vision was genius. We have a tiny backyard and he made every square inch beautiful. We got many quotes from different contractors, and he was the best value by far. His crew was very professional and they finished our job ahead of schedule. I recommended Angel to a friend (who also used Angel) and many other friends plan on using him in the future, after seeing our beautiful little backyard sanctuary. Angel was great to work with to realize our vision for our smaller yard space. He had great recommendations for both the seating area and the plant selection, and I'm glad he pushed those recommendations - those areas turned out great. Angel and his team worked to get the job done in much less time than I would have imagined. The only thing we weren't as satisfied with was the turf portion of the project - it looked much different than the product we had picked out from the sample. Regardless, we are happy overall with the project, and have already recommended Angel to a handful of our neighbors.

I had recently had my backyard done by an unlicensed contractor and they did a horrible job by doing a sloppy work with the stamped concrete, did not finish the fire pit, the synthetic grass was not put in, and the planters were left with dirt and holes. I was looking around for a new landscaper when I came across Promised Path Landscaping. I had called and spoke to Angel, a licensed contractor, who I had explained our situation to. I scheduled an appointment and he came the next day. During the appointment, Angel explained in detail what needed to be done and how he could fix our backyard to make it how I originally wanted it. After giving us a quote, which was surprisingly not much more than the unlicensed contractor’s price, I scheduled a date for him to start. The next week came and the process began which only took a week to finish. My backyard looked exactly like how I wanted it done. All planters had palm trees and filled in with small plants and mulch which is being watered by a drip system he installed. The fire pit was completely finished. He added the fire ring and was able to fill the pit with lava rocks. The synthetic grass was installed and looks outstanding giving our backyard some color. And to top it off, he also sealed our concrete and the stones around the fire pit so it would not discolor over time. I could have not been happier with the work done by Promised Path Landscaping. It is definitely worth paying a little extra for a professional like Angel. I would absolutely recommend his work to anyone who is looking for a licensed, honest, and experienced landscaper for a reasonable price.

Angel and his crew took our mud pit and turned it into a relaxing oasis in 2 weeks. The team was very professional from start to finish. The guys were done on schedule and stuck to the budget we agreed upon. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out. They put in lighting, concrete, landscaping, a containment wall, and a small water feature- they can do it all.

Its taken me about a year to write this review and it comes with some hesitation but with lots of thought. Its was my first time dealing with a home project of this size and I learned a lot. The crew Angel has working for him were all very polite. I was comfortable around them however, there were details that could have been handled differently. Angel can be a bit pushy but workable, trustworthy, but forgetful. Cost of the project $15K. Items; cement patio the length of the house approx. 50'l. X12w to 15w in front of patio door, a raised cement patio approx. 12x18, 12" high with water feature and two seating benches on either side, a fire-pit within a cement border and sod with chicken wire beneath for gophers, stepping cement squares with stone on the south and north side of the grass area, no other landscaping done. Project timeline: October - December 2013. Will include pictures later. 1. Start of the project. I had things around my yard that were given to me; chimes, little figurines, and clay pots. During project preparation these items were moved to one corner of the yard and piled/stacked on top of each other and items were broken. 2. Angel worked through the project pretty quickly, it was a bit concerning. So I asked if perhaps he misunderstood my timeline. Come to find out he miss understood and thought I needed project done a month earlier. 3. Work crew showed up on time and worked consistent hours. I have several dogs, so I would inspect the area before allowing my dogs in the yard. Sadly, I would find nails, screws, wires, besides light trash and water bottles. 4. In our discussions, we discussed a wood inlaid patio, ipe wood he said. As the project proceeded it turns out he didn't use the wood because of the cost. I was disappointed, $15K is no chump change. 5. The yard was completed and my initial reaction was very pleased, since my yard was all dirt previously. I've had a year to settle and think about this. During the project. Angel kept making a point of pointing out that he was giving me a great deal, $15K! Here's my experience: 1: I had to request a timer be placed for my sprinkler system, he placed a battery operated timer, not the electric one I had expected (ooops discussed not on the contract), 2: the water feature kept clogging up. The feature guy replaced it with an I water feature and have not had a problem since. 3: Could not find the main for the backyard. After much hesitation called Angel who sent a worker out. Turns out the casing for the main was never installed, it was corrected. 4: large moisture stain on cement in only one corner of cement slab (see pictures) still waiting to hear back. This stain has been there six months after slab was laid. A 3, 6 month follow up would have been nice to see how things settled and check on sprinklers. The gentleman that built the pump came and placed an electric one within the pool of the feature, have had no problems since. The fire-pit was completed in middle November, it was used in late December at an event I hosted. The fire-pit cracked in 6 different places due to the heat of the fire. I spoke with Angel and he claimed its natural. I will add that there is no fire-lining within the fire-pit and the fire-pit wall is 51/2" wide. The patio laid the length of the house has several cracks on it as well within the first 6th months. Again, I was told cement cannot be guaranteed, but he sent someone to do stress cuts. The cement finishers did a very nice job finishing and making the cuts on the cement, looks beautiful except for the cracks and the large moisture stain. Am I disappointed, of course I am. I used a non licensed contractor in my last project to do a large project yard in my previous home; Several cement areas, sitting wall, two large patios longer and wider than this one, and front patio with slate, cement walkway around the house and steps with lights to a pool and jacuzzi and walk area, and widened driveway. In 6 years I lived in that home, not one crack on the cement. I would have liked to have seen Angel more on the project particularly at the end of the day. If I had to do it again, I would have a clear view of what I wanted and obtain everything in writing. My recommendation; include details of expectation in contract, not just in the initial discussion verbally, make sure you speak up if something is being overlooked or forgotten. Don't assume anything! I expected better customer care, still hopeful he will address the ugly water stain.

My husband and I are very meticulous in everything we do, especially when it comes to home improvement projects. We needed a good landscape company to remodel our backyard and add curb appeal to our front yard. Being the second owner, we wanted to add our personal touch to the entire house, including the yard. There were already existing structures in the yard that we wanted to keep to avoid incurring more expenses: built in BBQ with a huge granite tile countertop, grass area, small concrete patio. We wanted to make it more modern and inviting. Needless to say, we had a budget to adhere to and a long wish list to satisfy. We interviewed a few companies. Even before we met with Angel (the owner of the company), I already liked his designs/projects showcased on Yelp. We met and immediately liked his PR, personality, and ideas. Among the 3 companies, we chose him despite the fact that he will be more expensive. He quickly gained our trust and we were confident that he would perform and deliver. We exchanged ideas several times. He listened to my ideas, since he knew that I like designing living spaces and he saw how my home was designed interiorly, I guess that made him trust me more, too. My husband and I are perfectionists, so we want everything done correctly and to our standards. I think Angel got that right away after a few phone calls and texts from us (almost daily), asking about the details and progress of the project. I think there could have been room for improvement in communication as far as what exactly was going to be done for that specific day. There was a rough timeline on the contract, but sometimes it was not quite the same as what was being done at the moment. It was important to me because payments were due each time there was something done. Picking out plants could have been improved too. Our initial agreement was Angel or his staff was going to take me to the nursery to pick out the plants/trees I like. I wasn’t sure if it was due to time constriction or schedule conflicts that I asked and waited a few times for the nursery trip schedule, but it never happened. Instead, he just emailed us pictures of plants to look at, and he later stopped by to describe these plants in person while we look at the pictures. Again, being meticulous and perfectionists, we were a little skeptical about that approach, but Angel told us once again to trust him on this, and we did. I have mixed feelings about the plants. Most of them were the ones I like, but some were not to my liking. When it came time to laying out the mulch in the front yard, we did not like the ones he chose. It looked very messy and not minimalist/modern at all. We asked him to replace it with brown wood chips instead. They moved the mulch to the backyard slope area instead. That extra work could have been prevented if he showed me a sample of that mulch and get approval prior to laying them out. The fact though, that he was willing to work with us to meet our standards was a good thing. He was also specific about the additional costs each time things got changed or added. There were no surprises about the costs/fees. Even on the contract everything was detailed, so you know how much certain things/tasks cost. About his crew: They were always on time. They actually started early, before 8:00 am and finished before 4:00 pm. They were very hard working and polite people. They have good work etiquette and professionalism. It seemed like they take pride in their work/craftsmanship - especially the person who did the wood for the deck, fence, and accent wall. We like the quality of their work. They always cleaned up after working daily. Angel or his lead crew would stop by almost daily to ensure things were progressing smoothly. The entire project finished in about 3 weeks, a little earlier than the expected date, which was a plus. Overall, we were satisfied with the end result. Despite some glitches here and there, we were happy that we now have a modern backyard with a nice seating area around a fire pit. The front yard came out beautifully. It surely added curb appeal to our home. Our neighbors have been complimenting it. Several people even stopped by to ask about the Landscape Company. We can even see cars passing by slowly to admire the front yard. AFTER: I purposely waited several weeks before writing a review to see how everything will stand over time. After 2 months, some of the plants died. I wasn’t sure if it was due to the hot weather or the yard soil wasn’t suitable for the plant choices. The good thing was: Angel would send his staff from time to time to check on things and once they found out about the dying plants, Angel took the initiative to replace some of them with no extra charge. We also found out later on that the faucet in the existing BBQ area was no longer working after they finished the project. My husband’s suspicion was they forgot to reconnect the piping for that faucet. We raised our concern to Angel. He sent his staff a few times to check on it and find out the cause. They couldn’t find it at first. Several days passed and more texts/phone calls were made to get it fixed. His staff wasn’t sure how the “irrigation crew” did it. I suppose there were different crews for different tasks. They have decided that the only way to find out is to dig the already finished yard. So they dug and found out that the water pipe for the BBQ faucet was not reconnected, hence no water supply. They fixed it and cleaned up after. The faucet was working again, but we were left with an area of ruined sod - they said they will replace, they haven’t done so yet. Two days after they fixed the faucet, we had a flood in the backyard when the water sprinklers went off in the morning. Apparently, one of the pipes bursted and left a geyser in our yard. I immediately called Angel and told him about the emergency. He instructed us on how to shut off the main water valve and sent his staff a few hours later. Our suspicion was it had something to do with them previously digging and fixing the water pipe for the faucet in the BBQ area. They said it was one of the “old pipes” and not the one they installed. Regardless of who was to blame, they fixed it. After a huge water bill due to the geyser, so far, everything seems fine. My husband and I really like Angel. We believe he is a good man who truly keeps his words. He wants his clients to be satisfied. That’s why he still checks on us periodically to ensure that things are going smoothly. Yes, mistakes were made, but he did what was necessary to fix the problem(s). I just hope that nothing else breaks down. We love our yard. Our family and friends like it a lot too. We’ve already had a few outdoor parties and we are very proud to showcase it to everyone. If you are considering hiring him, he can truly perform and give you a beautiful yard. My only suggestion is to be as specific as possible and be on top of everything to avoid any miscommunication or misassumption.

I hired Angel to remodel my backyard based on his excellent online reviews. As I could not visualize the potential of my small backyard, I needed someone who had the vision to maximize the space. Angel did just that – my backyard now truly looks bigger and more inviting. His crew were very competent, hard-working , respectful and tidy. As far as improvements in the overall process, I think the communication could have been much better and I feel someone should have been taking notes about what we discussed. I had to re-iterate a few times things I wanted done (items were forgotten over the weeks) –but everything did eventually get done. Also, appointments and days the crew showed up constantly changed at the last minute from what I was initially told so I didn’t feel like I always knew what was going on. The project also took longer than what I was told but I was not in a hurry, so this was not an issue. Lastly, it would have been nice to have been presented more alternatives – especially any options to save money from my initial budget. Angel did show me pictures of the fountain and raised patio but it would have been nice to see various items in person before they were purchased—as well as the plant materials. Overall, however, I am pleased with the outcome and Angel is very accessible by phone and email to answer any questions I may have.

We had a great experience with Promised Path Landscaping Inc. Angel was very professional, communicative and responsive. His crew produced noticeable progress on site every single day. We were always able to get a hold of Angel in a timely manner and he was constantly in communications with us about all aspects of our project. Angel schedules his crew to work on one project at a time, so there was never an issue with no one showing up or delays of the project. They showed up and focused on our backyard; completing the project in about four weeks. We own a new construction house having no yard landscaping / hard-scpaping at all. Angel met with us to survey the back yard and gather information on what we wanted. We asked for a waterfall, a fire-pit, planting areas, grass and concrete walkways. He created two different designs that we chose from. We are so very happy with the end result; I think we have the best backyard in our neighborhood. We love it, it's an amazing entertaining space. The waterfall is so beautiful and adds such great ambiance to the back yard, the sound is so relaxing and is mesmerizing to watch. We've enjoyed hanging out by the fire-pit at night with friends, such a great addition to our backyard! Don't waste your time with other contractors that promise you the sun and moon to get the job and then leave you high and dry once they have your money, call Promised Path Landscaping first and save yourself a lot of money and stress.

We recently contracted with Promised Path to transform our mostly grass front and back yards into xeriscape landscaping and the yard looks fantastic! Angel's crew is not only polite and courteous but also incredibly hard working. They arrive on time, ready to work and they represent the company well. Our project manager encouraged us to go "rock shopping" with him so we would get exactly what we were looking for. They did a great job of following our landscape architects drawings and every time I walk out my front door it puts a smile on my face. In reading other reviews of Promised Path I saw that they received either 1 or 5 stars out of 5. They get a 4 from us. As mentioned above, we are VERY happy with the final appearance of the project. Where they could use some improvement is on communication. When soliciting bids for the project Angel told us that would receive an update of the project every day they were on the job. Our project manager did not do that so we had a couple days of scratching our heads trying to figure out what was going on. I didn't feel daily updates were necessary so it's really not that big a deal but being late for appointments or failing to call when an appointment couldn't be met are bigger issues. Follow-up during our "30 day plant guarantee" was less than ideal but with a little push things were taken care of. The minor hiccups along the way give Promised Path a 4 star rating from us. Our yard looks great and I will, and already have recommend them to friends considering making changes to their landscaping.

After the initial visit, Angel was able to come up with a nice, clean design which fit our budget, and incorporated both our ideas and his own. We couldn't be happier with our new yard. We chose to use Promised Path because of the owner, Angel. He designed a fabulous yard for us and worked within our budget. We had to wait for the actual work to be done because Angel likes to be able to give each job the attention it deserves. Our front and back yards were finished in just under two weeks and the transformation was amazing. Angel stopped by every morning to let us know what the plans were and to answer any questions we had. We didn't have many ideas of what we wanted and Angel's design was perfect. It was a really great experience and while I know our yard will last forever, we look forward to working with Promised Path in the future.

What an experience! I hired Promised Path Landscaping to concrete my side yard just they did at a neighbors house. The communication with Angel was pretty easy and he made the entire process stress free! The project turned about even better than I expected and we are so excited about how it looks. I got a few quotes from other companies and although his quote was the highest I can honestly say it was beyond worth the investment. Angel answered all my questions and explained exactly what was going to happen and when and then actually kept to the schedule and finished on budget. Angel and his team at Promised Path are outstanding! Professional, responsive, timely, and knowledgeable! Angel listened to our desires for a re-landscaped front yard and made our vision a reality! He also fixed a large problem area in our backyard (removing multiple large trees with invasive root structures and grounding out stumps, helping select new privacy trees and installing with proper root containment, resodding and installing accent lighting in back and front. His crew was great - polite, professional, and neat. Angel was extremely honest and demonstrates integrity in all his actions. He took lots of time with us to ensure all our questions were answered and welcomed my involvement in the selection of plant materials and pavers. Completely happy with the services and continuing the relationship with a yard maintenance contract. Also appreciate that Angel is a responsible, above-board employer and does the right thing by his crew with workers' comp, insurance, etc. - he provides a competitive product and we feel good about doing business with him!

Angel is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Angel and his team demolished our front and back yards and completely relandscaped everything. Working with a plan from another landscape designer, Angel made some suggestions that were cost effective and aesthetically beautiful. His workers were experts in their area, polite, on time and hard workers. From the minute the project started, Angel and his crew were working every day. Angel checked in with us, responded to my emails and calls and made adjustments when necessary. He was on time and on budget. One of the great things about Angel is his ability to work with people, to involve you in the process and to listen to your concerns. He wants his customers to be happy. Even though our project is done, I know I can call Angel if anything comes up and he will come over and take care of it. He knows what he's doing, he's proud of his work and he should be. Where do I start? Angel and his team were nothing shy of amazing. I rarely ever take the time to write a review on a business or restaurant, but if it is worth it, I will take the time out of my day to give my two cents. Angel was recommended to me from my uncle who had a friend that used Angel and his team and assured me that his work is awesome and best of all, affordable. We recently bought a home in Eastlake Chula Vista and had a clean slate of a yard that needed to be done. I had met quite a few contractors that just didn't seem to fit the type of people I was willing to work with. When initially meeting Angel, I already received that vibe that I didn't receive from the other contractors that approached me. He listened to my proposal of my yard and even answered any questions that I had. His in depth knowledge of the material and everything that he would be using reassured me that this was the right guy to go with. I really appreciated the honesty when helping us find a way to make it better than the idea I had already had and gave out some awesome ideas that I ended up going with in the end. His company was well organized, contracts were understandable, and his workers were professional. Every time I had a question or concern I would receive a response in a timely manner. Although, the best part was, I rarely had to contact him, because he maintained great communication throughout the entire process. It was very reassuring that I was filled in throughout the process and was informed of every step that was going to happen before they actually did it. When the concrete was laid out, he made sure I was satisfied with the borders before actually laying out the cement. Being a part of the process really made me feel comfortable that the job was being done properly. I have heard from other neighbors that whomever they used didn't involve them as much and just completed the job. The other great part was that no payment was made until that specific job was completed and I was fully satisfied. I mean, who wants to prepay for work before it is done? Definitely another plus in my book. His team was very friendly as well and worked very diligently to accomplish the job ahead of the 3 week deadline. I'll also have to give a shout out to Salvador, who was very engaged in our process. He even went with us to the nursery and Home Depot to pick out the plants and flowers that we wanted in our yard and was very knowledgeable as well. My family and I could not be more satisfied with our yard. It is that extra added effort that Promised Path Landscaping puts in that makes a big difference when it comes to customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone and already have to many of my neighbors and friends.

I would give Promised Path 4.5 out of 5 stars if this rating were able to rank by half stars. We worked with Angel who was great at taking our ideas and filling in the technical and professional aspects needed. He has great vision and was able to help us see what our piece of dirt could potentially look like. He guided us on a few color and design decisions and was usually right on. He and his team were extremely fast. We had a fairly large piece of land and he was able to get the work done faster than he quoted. The half star off would be due to a few instances when he didn't make agreed upon times, but usually is prompt and good about communicating with you. Our yard is now beautiful and my family really enjoys spending time there thanks to Angel and his team.

Our landscape project ideas had been created prior to hiring a company for installation. We used reviews from houzz to get 3 landscape contractors to look at our plan, provide feedback, and to give us a written estimate. Promised Path Landscape Inc., owned by Angel Carrasco, was awarded the contract based on several factors. First, Angel was able to meet with us within a couple days of the call, was prompt, and authentic. He had several alternative ideas which we were willing to consider. Second, Angel’s enthusiasm is infectious making Rhonda and my selection much easier, not to mention the reviews and project photos on the noted web sites. Third, Angel’s preliminary bid was in the competitive range with other contractors, and was the most realistic for us. A change in Angel’s schedule afforded us a quick start to the project, which was delightful; we had been in the planning mode for months. The hardscape plan included an architectural featured wall, a walkway at the street winding to the front door connecting to the driveway and new patio. Angel’s choice of material/style was a perfect option for a maintenance free, visually pleasing addition. Preventative action was taken by replacing an existing leaning cinder block wall between properties. The method used to create both walls ensured a secure solid structure. The integrity of the hardscape, in our opinion, was of the upmost importance to the quality of the overall project. Angel provided us color options for the featured wall, and when it was painted the color we selected – OMG! Of course, we told Angel it needed to be changed and he was graciously accommodating; the outcome was unbelievably beautiful. The project was taking on a new life. Angel’s crew was hard working, reliable, professional, and efficient. When Rhonda and I had questions or concerns, which there were plenty because we are very involved clients, Angel did his best to explain. Communication with his crew was challenging due to the language differences (our Spanish is very poor), but Angel was always available by phone when not on site. The job site in general was kept tidy. When we wanted a change, repositioning of rocks, lights, or plants, it wasn’t a problem. The men were pleasant, polite, and had a great attitude. The work continued with minimal delay, starting during the holidays. Angel continued to monitor the progress of each phase of installation i.e. hardscape, plant selection and placement, boulder placement, and fountain input along with his co-hart “Susan”. Susan suggested that we have the garage door painted a different color to blend with the house. This really enhanced the visual appreciation of the lighted wall as well as the landscape. The fountain is another dynamic feature providing us (and the neighbors) a peaceful ambiance. Don’t be surprised, while looking in a popular magazine, if you see “Promised Path” Angel Carrasco in print, specifically this project. We knew from the beginning that Angel was committed to creating, with us, an amazing palate of pleasure. He definitely met our expectations!

Promised Path is a exceptional Landscape Design company. Angel renovated my yard and produced quality results during the holidays. I got Promised Path Landscaping contact information from a friend of mine who used them for a small project. I was doing a much bigger project - we needed drainage to be put in since our house was on a very steep hill and had absoluately no drainage, the retaining wall at the bottom of the hill was falling over due to rain over the years, and our backyard was essentially a mess of tree roots and dirt that was unusable. We got a couple of estimates and met with Angel from Promised Path. Right away we were able to tell that Angel was not just a salesman/contractor - he really knew his stuff, listened to our ideas/needs, and worked with us to put together a proposal that represented our needs and offered suggestions that we would have have thought of. We appreciated that he took as much time as we needed to explain how things would be done, the pros and cons of certain things (pavers vs concrete, etc etc). He also wrote up a comprehensive contract, and we went back and forth until we were both satisfied with the contract. They started on time, finished early, and stayed within budget. There were a couple of surprises along the way, but more due to us changing our minds regarding a couple of things but Angel worked with us on any changes that we wanted. He made some great recommendations along the way that made the end project much better. We had retaining walls added, rebuilt part of an existing one, cleared the entire yard, put in paver stones, put in a gas firepit and a bench, reinforced the beams on the existing deck and the concrete blocks, put in drainage behind the retaining walls, all around the house, installed drip systems, put in a new underground drainage out to the main road to replace the existing/nonworking one, and replaced some fencing. They did a great job, the back yard looks fantastic now, seems much bigger, and water is no longer a problem. Not only that, when we found out the existing drain out to the road would not work, they very carefully drilled out to the street and after patching up the small band that they had to dig up, you can barely tell that there is new vs old concrete on the driveway. Overall we had a very good experience with Promised Path and would recommend them to friends, and would use them again for other landscaping projects. Angel was really a great partner with us on the project, and I felt that he really cared about the project and the outcome!

We wanted a low maintenance front, side, and backyard with hardscapes, water features, built in BBQ Island, fire pit, pergolas, waterfall, and pond. We contacted four licensed Landscape contractors to get the best possible price and quality. The first contractor gave us a decent price but after looking at some of his projects around the neighborhood, we were not too impressed with the quality of work and his design ideas. The second contractor did not give us any price but left us with the impression that our budget will fall too short for the project we are envisioning. Contractor #3 was willing to work with our budget but we will only get the hardscape, plants, pergolas, and a fire pit (without the water features and BBQ). We decided to settle and agreed with the project but later on backed out after he started raising the price too much for small items that we wanted changed. He also gave us the impression that he will be making the decisions because he knows best and we have no choice but to like it. Angel Carrasco, the owner of Promised Path gave us the feeling of somebody we could trust from the first time we met him. He took our ideas and added some of his own and put it in a design which we could visualize. He worked with our budget by breaking the price down to each individual project so we can choose to add or remove and know how much and where our money will be spent on. The great thing about it is that instead of settling to remove some of the features that we would like, we ended up getting everything we wanted plus more with less money than the other three contractors. As far as his workers, they are a bunch of well mannered, clean as they go, prompt, and hard working professionals who start and end their days with prayers. (My wife watched them daily since she is at home most of the day). Angel is always at the site making sure everything goes right and constantly in communication with us. A day will not pass without him telling us his progress and asking if we have any questions or input. Also, during the process, we made additions and changes as we thought of new ideas and Angel was always willing to work with us. He is also a man of his word. So many times I asked him to do something extra or change something, and if he says he will do it then rest assured it will get done. What impressed me the most is the attention to detail and the care they put in the project in areas that no one can see once the project is done. An example is how they dug almost three feet for the foundation of the fire pit and the surrounding seating area so it is done right and avoid settling. Also, the time they spent on the BBQ Island leveling each block was a sign of true professionals. Speaking of BBQ Island, I originally wanted to just build around my old movable island to save money but he insisted that it will not look good so he built me one that surpassed my expectations. There was also a time when he laid the mulch and the next day told us that it does not look too good and decided to remove it on his dime and gave us a refund for the mulch. Needless to say, the project went without a hitch and was completed ahead of schedule. We've spent a lifetime in our home visually designing our front yard. The visual has changed over the years, but we've always kept a visual of what our curb appeal should look like. Promised Path transformed our visual to our front yard. Angel is an honest professional and when he begins the job, you know he is working to deliver a quality product. He estimated the job at four weeks and delivered at three weeks. He had full crews on the job site daily, hustling all day long. His crews were respectful and polite. I interviewed 4 landscape companies to transform a backyard in a foreclosed property I had moved into the year before that had become knee high weeds, chipped concrete and dirt. Angel from Promised Path stood out from the very beginning. He arrived on time and was one of the few companies that took my ideas with a few of his own and put them into a design on paper that I could actually visualize within the budget I provided. Angel was even agreeable to a few of the changes I requested as the project progressed. From a new seat wall with lights to a small corner sandbox for my son. The result is a beautiful new yard that our family will enjoy for many years. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to have spent more time choosing the plants and flowers for the yard but this can all be changed as the seasons change and this would not stop me from doing the same backyard layout all over again. We hired Promised Path for a back yard makeover which included installing a new spa, building a custom fire pit, replacing and expanding the patio, and fresh landscaping. The process started with getting a plan for our Home Owners Association. We needed the plans very quickly in order to avoid a month delay as our HOA only meets monthly. Angel really came through for us, getting us professional plans within a couple of days. When the plans were approved, we decided to start the work the very next day. The Promised Path crew was there promptly that first day and every day thereafter. The crew was very respectful of our property and privacy, and worked very well together. Angel kept us informed of the crew's schedule and the project milestones. In our case, virtually every milestone was completed ahead of schedule and we ended up finishing two weeks early. It was amazing to come home from work each day and see how much progress had been made! We are extremely happy with our new back yard. The finished product not only meets the plans developed at the start, but also meets our vision of comfort and convenience. Angel was great to work with during the whole process. He patiently answered our seemingly endless questions, worked with us when we thought we needed to change something, and helped us see the pros and the cons of making those changes.
