West Remodeling

West Remodeling recently completed our kitchen remodel. This was our first big project on our 1926 Spanish style home. From beginning to end it was an amazing experience. Rick West and his crews were always there to meet with us and preform each task with efficiency and quality. He listened to what we wanted in a kitchen and made it fit with our house. From demo to the final touches we can’t say enough about how wonderful our kitchen turned out. We highly recommend Rick West and his company West Remodeling.

My husband and I hired Rick to do a complete remodel of a 1920s house in Eagle Rock. He did an outstanding job, finished a challenging project on time and on budget (in the middle of a pandemic no less), and was a true professional and pleasure to work with throughout. He creatively and effectively addressed any issues that arose during the project, thought ahead and proposed solutions to issues before we needed to think of them, and for such an extensive and involved project the process was remarkably low stress from our perspective. His subcontractors are also fantastic, and the quality of workmanship in everything from cabinetry to tiling was very apparent. Some background regarding our project: the house had not been updated in decades, and needed everything... new plumbing, electrical, roof, floors, total remodel of two bathrooms and the kitchen, insulation, etc. Before starting on the project, we interviewed several different contractors. Rick's proposal, while not the lowest cost, was by far the most thoughtful and most comprehensive. Rick was also the only person we interviewed who took the time to think about the floor plan of the house and went above and beyond to transform what was a rather illogical floorplan into one that makes much more sense. Given how significant our renovations were, we were very grateful to work with a trustworthy and reliable professional. We've already recommended Rick to friends, and would recommend him to anyone.

We hired West Remodeling to do a complete kitchen and bath remodel. Rick is highly professional and so are all the subcontractors that he hires. He creatively solved issues that one finds when taking a 1907 kitchen down to the studs. The remodel is of the highest quality. Our kitchen is beautiful and we are very happy with the results.

Rick is the real deal! He is a genuine gentleman with integrity and character and uses sub contractors that are equally as professional. He always stays appropriately connected to the decision making process as well as the job site. He is a little pricey but worth the lack of drama that often accompanies a remodeling project. We would definitely hire West Remodeling again for any further remodeling events.

We hired Rick and team for a remodel of our 1966 kitchen. They took it down to the studs, raised ceiling new electrical, moved sink added and changed windows , new cabinets, tile floor and backsplash, countertops, appliances. Same square footage looks twice the size. We are very happy with the quality and service . Great experience. For a big job to us, we were made comfortable thruout the job! Highly reccomend. Every sub used a professional.

Rick was highly recommended by a friend after Rick remodeled their house. "Honesty, knowledgeable and genial" were the words that convinced me to hire him for putting in a new sliding garden gate and repairing our fence. The quality of work was excellent.

We have engaged several contractors over the past 3 years, and our experiences were difficult, expensive, and discouraging. Consequently, these situations made us very suspicious of hiring another contractor. However, Rick West and his team of sub-contractors have restored our trust that someone could do a good and honest job. Rick is a delightful person, as well as organized and honest. He sought to understand what we wanted and was clear with his bid and did the job with integrity. He and all of his sub-contractors were on time, communicated with us, treated us with respect and took every idea of ours to heart and sought to do what we desired. They also gave great suggestions, when it came to difficult decisions. In addition, when we made a mistake in judgment regarding things we wanted done, they all bent over backwards to correct our errors so that we would end up with what we wanted. In addition, we had to have major landscaping done, and thus, Rick sub-contracted for the job Guillermo Gardening Services. Guillermo is a talented and pleasant man and his team of workers did an outstanding job. Every person that Rick hired to work on our house did excellent work, as well as sought to satisfy every desire. Consequently, working with Rick and his team was a delightful experience. I would never use anyone else.

We were recommended Rick and have used him on various improvement projects over the past two years: new gates, large polished concrete fireplace and hearth, new cantilever glass patio doors, decorating electrical work. We have found Rick and his team to be extremely courteous, responsive, professional and trustworthy. All of the work has been to a very high standard. We will certainly consider Rick for larger work in the future.

Was referred to him by others in the community who had him do major renovations. Very happy we went with Rick. He's extremely professional and honest. Was very familiar with the La Canada area and all the permits we needed. He took care of everything we needed to complete the project. We basically rebuilt our home, every room and bathroom plus the outside was completely rebuilt (5 bedroom, 5 bath). We also added several hundred square feet as an addition. I've been told repeatedly by others who have had major work done that our project which took 7 months should have taken up to a year to do. Very happy with the quality of the work and his professionalism, plus the price was fair. Though we had cheaper initial bids by others he was very fair throughout the construction and with all changes we made along the way. I don't feel he took advantage of us though we kept making lots of changes along the way. In the end I would strongly recommend going with Rick. -Also feel I should mention his crew was also very professional, his sub contractors work with him repeatedly on his many projects so they have a reason to do a good job. His tile guy who did all our bathrooms, the plumber, the electrician, the architect, the list goes on, everybody was great. When you start a major renovation you need someone like this to get it done.

We needed a bathroom and master bedroom significantly remodeled, I’m talking tear everything out and start over. The space was a challenge and just about everything had to be custom. We had hired a different contractor originally, but it turns out he wasn’t up to the task and kind of left us stranded. Our interior designer, Catherine from Design Rescue LA, suggested hiring West Remodeling. Not only was Rick not daunted by the scope of the project, they were able to start quickly and the project went smoothly. They worked seamlessly with our interior designer and the project manager was very easy to get a hold of and easy to talk to. I would definitely hire West Remodeling again.

As an interior designer, I have worked with West Remodeling on many projects for the past 18 years. Rick's company has never failed to hold it's standards to the highest degree and complete each job to perfection. Hiring an honorable and reputable contractor is the first step in any remodel or new construction project which often times can be stressful. Rick's ability to oversee all aspects of the project, communicating and working efficiently with allied professionals, designers, clients and sub-trades makes West Remodeling one of the best in the field.
