Originally founded in 1982, family-owned Tran + Thomas Design Studio has emerged as a top leader in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, and Product Selection. Tran + Thomas Design Studio is a full-service commercial and residential interior design firm based in the Kansas City area. Combining the talents and 25+ years of experience of two award-winning designers and a talented staff, our company is committed to excellence, integrity and is known for original design solutions that bring our clients an exceptional experience along the way. Originally founded in 1982 by Jean Bailey (Jill Tran's mother), the company was mother/daughter run for 19 years as Jean Bailey Interiors. Jill then purchased the business in 2001, changing the name to Jill Tran Interior Design. In the Spring of 2011, Jill gained business partner Carmen Thomas and Tran + Thomas Design Studio was born. Tran + Thomas maintains accounts and business relationships with an extraordinary number of manufacturers and installation resources, offering a range of style(s) and price categories. These relationships allow us to tailor each project to meet the needs and budgets of each and every client. The company employs a step-by-step procedure for establishing each design plan, including design presentations, contracts, contractor/architect meetings, budget proposals, client authorizations, and schedules for payment, installations and logistics. Typically, the only surprise for Tran + Thomas clients is how far the completed projects exceed their expectations.

I had the pleasure of working with Jill and Patrice. They were so accommodating, nice and really helped when it came to bouncing ideas of how I wanted my home to look and feel. They helped me focus on form and function and helped narrow the purpose of each room. They also provided measurements and practical tip, suggestions on materials, lighting, and furniture, and even helped me move a few pieces around to see if I would like the flow better. They even accommodated and entertained my 6 year old who wanted them to revamp his room! Thanks Jill and Patrice for being so kind, efficient, and for being the real life versions of Pinterest! I am now armed with a better idea of what I want, am more focused, and actually have a plan (rather than just random boards of beautifully staged homes) in place so I can turn my house into a home. I was nervous because I had no idea what to expect with an interior designer coming to the house.. but I instantly felt like they met me where I was at.. and unexpectedly helped me push past some mental blocks that were holding me back from making the spaces that I truly wanted and am working towards. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

Tran Thomas design did just that! They were so enthusiastic and encouraging. They gave me the confidence to make my own choices and gave me guidance when I couldn't. They asked questions about us and incorporated our passions into the design. They were never dismissive or pompous and their ideas were so creative! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

The entire professional team at Tran and Thomas paid attention to every detail, taking into consideration utilization of every space and containing objects, contents and fixtures during transport. We have worked in unison with Jill and Carmen from Tran-Thomas Design for years, and they are bright, creative, both unique yet practical in their work, and always delightful to be around. Between the two of them, their design experience runs a broad spectrum. If I was looking for a designer in the Kansas City area, I wouldn't consider anyone else.

I recently had the pleasure of walking through a house that had been remodeled and designed by Tran + Thomas Design Studio. The work was beautiful. The house had always felt so cramped before, but their team made the rooms into open, livable, comfortable, incredible spaces.
