My husband and I have worked with Terry Buchanan on multiple interior projects over the last 12 years. That is a testament to successful collaboration. Terry is a total professional, unflappable and a delight to be with. Projects in our home have included everything and demonstrate her versatility: bedding, walls and window treatments in a master bed & bath; complete refurnishing of a family room; redecoration of a good quality but outdated formal living-dining room and study; custom upgrades in an entry hall and kitchen; transformation of a man's den-office-TV room to his exact specifications; and change of a powder room from builder-grade to sparkling jewel box. We love lots of color, a mixture of different styles and even whimsey, and don't always agree. Terry takes it all in stride. If we want to keep certain good furniture pieces, she can incorporate them with new pieces and design elements for a beautiful space. After the initial consultation at our home, Terry will return with a floorplan and pictures of what may be needed: new furniture, lamps, accessories, flooring, paint, draperies or custom cabinetry, along with samples of the most amazing fabrics! After selection and ordering, she and her associates coordinate a timeline for each step and final installation. During that period, Terry will meet us at home or a design center as needed. She can work with her contractors yours. Billing is precise and clear. We highly recommend Terry Buchanan and Designline.

I met Terry when I moved and gutted a classic 1980's dated home. She is a delight to work with. She listens, is always engaged and open to all ideas and possibilities. She is a creative problem solver and has a wide variety of contacts and resources. She's made the project fun and kept the process moving without feeling rushed. We asked Terry to revamp our 35 year old family room into a modern space. She listened to all of our preferences and developed a plan for implementation. Our new space is modern, comfortable, and beautiful. It was a pleasure working with Terry.

After admiring Terry’s makeover of a family room in Washington Post’s Design Challenge, I contacted her to redecorate our family and dining rooms. Terry developed a new floor plan, a color scheme, and recommended furniture, furniture placement, fabric, rugs, lighting, and other accessories. She even accompanied us to a Design Center so we could see items first hand and sit on the furniture she recommended to make sure it was comfortable for us. My husband and I love the results. Terry was very professional, reliable, and took into consideration our likes, lifestyle, and budget. We were so pleased with her work that we hired her to do another project. Terry, from Designline, presented a plan with fabric, furniture, paint, counter-tops, wainscoting, flooring, carpets, lighting and much more. She then worked with us to complete a beautiful, updated project at our pace and budget. We love our new, more comfortable kitchen and family room and will continue to work with Terry.

I hired Teresa Buchanan of Designline to renovate and update my family room design, walls and furniture. I had worked with Terry a few years ago on a successful kitchen remodel. My beautiful family room has a dramatic fireplace, and looks out over my garden, and is the most used room in my home. But it no longer worked for my lifestyle today, the furniture and colors were dated, and we needed a complete makeover. Terry very skillfully drew out my vision for the room, and showed me her recommendations, which were all very much in line with my likes and budget. She was pleasant, tactful, profession and prompt, which made this a successful and pleasant experience for me. Designline (Terry) managed to satisfy multi requirements into a cohesive whole for two senior citizens with differing taste. She is a professional, very easy to work with who listens and hears/understands your concerns and objectives - I personally don't know how she managed this. The true test though is that the more we live in the newly designed rooms, the more we appreciate the functionality and aesthetics of the spaces. I find myself just sitting in the rooms, looking around and feeling a warm glow of appreciation. Oh, and lastly, everything was done within budget in a timely manner. I almost forgot to include this which is essential - Terry has great resources for cabinet(woodworking)l making, painting and upholstering.

We were moving into a new house and had two large rooms with multiple design constraints which made finding a nice layout challenging. The scope of the project was limited since we were seeking help for two rooms but Terry's vision made a HUGE impact in our home. Throughout the project, Terry took the time to understand our current and future needs and wants for the space and was able to translate that into a layout that worked better than we could have imagined. Highly recommended.

My project was accomplished in a wonderful manner. I, at 82 years of age, enjoyed the process Ms. Buchanan provided while accomplishing the task. The outcome was lovely.

Her clients have continued using her services for years. Our relationship is one of mutual respect. Ms. Buchanan not only is an excellent designer but also a pleasure to work with. She thoroughly understands all aspects of fabrication and installation, is capable of precise measurements, and creative in all of her designs.

Our house was started in '86 and finished in '88. Terry was involved from the beginning to this day. Her sense of design, color and workmanship is outstanding. Her artistic ability is evident in the beautiful full-room rugs that she designed for our great room and dining room. Thru the years she has refined & added as was required to each room in our home.

Faced with a large great room and no idea how to furnish it, we contacted Designline after seeing examples of finished projects online. Starting with a blank slate, Ms. Buchanan spent the time to listen to how we wanted to use the room, our likes and dislikes, and provided a detailed design plan with options to match our tastes. The ideas presented were beyond what we would have envisioned without her guidance. She walked us through the renovation process and we ended up with a room that we absolutely love! We especially appreciated her willingness to meet with us at our convenience and that our needs were put first. We are about to start our second renovation project with Ms. Buchanan and feel certain we'll end up with another fabulous design. She is a pleasure to work with.
