Janks Construction

After postponing a house remodel for years, I went into a home that had been remodeled and instantly knew I wanted my house to look the same. The contractor was Steve Janks and after just one consultation, I knew his was the perfect Company for my remodel. He changed a traditional house to One with a modern open floor plan. I am still in awe that he was able to do such a bold job and stay within budget. All of the workmen were well behaved and courteous to us while the job was taking place. I highly recommend him!

Steve has done multiple projects for us over 10+ years. We have been very impressed and can't say enough of his work ethics and quality. He provides great advice during scoping and planning. His staff is professional and friendly. Many on his team have returned to work with us over the years. Steve is a good problem solver. He fixed a leak in our balcony after many failures by other contractors. He recently renovated our baths and updated 30 year old wiring and flooring throughout our house. The project was completed on time and within budget. I will be happy to invite Steve and his team back on our next renovation.

The team at Janks Construction are top notch. Having worked with many contractors over the years with my real estate investing company I can say without a doubt that the team at Janks is thoughtful and thorough in their construction and the entire process. From a small repair we needed on a rental property to a full top to bottom renovation of a 5 unit building they have gone above and beyond to make sure all of our projects shine. Very dependable and helpful in each phase of your project. We like working with the Janks team so much they also helped us complete a full renovation on our personal home. Exceeded expectations is almost every way!! --Extremely helpful design/selection support --in every case that had concerns or initially disagreed with Steve's recommendations --he was absolutely right. --Really extraordinary quality of work --EJ their tile guy and Ozzi the customer service guy did so many (not so little) extra favors --as things came up. They definitely do NOT "nickle and dime" you for changes. --Probably best endorsement we can give is that they will be doing our backyard next.

Our construction project was a major remodel which required taking down a structural wall, and combining two rooms (original kitchen and dining room) into one large kitchen built for a serious chef and a growing family. Most of the downstairs was updated in the process of our project, we added a mud room (drop zone for the kids), new floors, new fireplace surrounds, moved lighting, expanded windows, etc, everything turned out great and we love it! Janks Construction was great to work with, Steve, Craig, Adan and the Janks team were all very helpful, always friendly, worked hard and always wanted to do the right thing. The construction cost was reasonable so we are very pleased with our overall experience. I would recommend Janks to anyone that is interested in doing a remodel in San Diego area and hope to work with them again on my next project.

Janks Construction remodeled our 40 year-old condo completely, removing walls and reconfiguring kitchen and bathrooms, and turned it into a perfect home with quality construction. They were timely, organized and clean, and the best part was that Steve took me shopping for appliances, tile, fixtures, flooring, etc., and helped me make good choices and got me the best prices. Steve and Craig, along with a great team, made the remodel fun!

We hired Janks Construction to do the remodel of a 40 year old house that had never been remodeled. This included the removal of two walls in the kitchen, which were replaced by a large island. They replaced all the cabinetry in the kitchen, added pot lights throughout the house, replaced the baseboards, completely gutted and replaced three bathrooms, including vanities, toilets, and tubs/showers. They put in new wood-look tile throughout the downstairs, reconfigured and retiled the fireplace, and replaced the mantel with a rustic-looking one. We hired Janks because his presentation was so knowledgeable, with regard to both construction and aesthetics. It is obvious that he loves his work and it shows in the work. I am extremely happy with the work he did. If there were any elements that were not done to my standards, Janks quickly had his crew make the corrections. For example, the tile backsplash in the kitchen had some problems with some of the tiles showing the wall behind. He immediately had his crew remove the problem tiles and replace them. He worked with me extremely well, making changes or additions without any problems. I would say that Janks construction went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the final project. He even sent his crew back to install a railing that I originally had thought I didn't want, at no charge to me! Great company!

When I decided to remodel two bedrooms and a master bathroom in my home, I wanted to create a look that was unique yet not unconventional (keeping in mind resale value). To accomplish this goal, I wanted to find a company that would listen to what I wanted and wouldn’t push me toward a particular look just because they were comfortable with that style of construction. Janks’ consultative approach to my project immediately put my mind at ease, and made me feel they were the right choice. Working closely with their designer and project manager, Janks quickly put together a detailed set of plans that included all of my requirements, associated costs and production time line. Once the project began I found Janks’ employees to be true craftsmen, each performing skillful framing, electrical, plumbing, tiling and flooring work. Every step of the way, Janks kept me informed of their progress, explained my options when questions arose, and made recommendations that best suited the situation (and my budget). Best of all: the finished product came out looking exactly the way I envisioned. I was so satisfied with the outcome of that project, I hired Janks again recently for another one --- and my recent experience was every bit as good as the first. I wholeheartedly recommend Janks for any project that demands quality. The results will be used and enjoyed every day you’re in your home!

We have used Janks Construction for several projects at our home (bathroom remodels, travertine marbel in backyard and around pool). Their workmanship is outstanding and very professional. They may not be the most inexpensive (if that's what you are looking for), but the quality of work is worth the little extra cost.

Steve Janks did a great job updating our house in Rancho Santa Fe. It was a pleasure to work with Steve and Craig who checked on the progress almost daily. I can recommend Steve Construction for timely project management and staying within budget.

We were referred by Bedrosians Tile for iinstallation of our kitchen floor, but then expanded the scope of work when we learned of his general contracting capacity. He is very competent and personable. He was always available throughout the project and made certain that his subs understood their assignments accurately completed their jobs. All of his subs are at the craftsman / artisan level who take great pride in their work and performed seamlessly and efficiently together (no stepping on each other's toes). Pablo was great with the tile installation. Enrique patched all of the drywall perfectly. Jose trued up doors and windows. Scott's painting was excellent. They were all on time and completed their job on time or ahead of schedule. They cleaned up and left no traces behind. We worked on time-and-expense so that I could add additional tasks as they arose. The final cost was very reasonable. We were very comfortable with the entire relationship. It was an unexpected pleasure. I have referred friends to him and will use him again.

Janks Construction remodeled our master bathroom from scratch. Did an excellent job and we are very happy. Steve and Craig kept very close contact with us during the remodeling. The company has very skillful people working for them. 7 years ago they completely remodeled our kitchen. We were happy with the job so returned to them last year for the master bathroom.
