Essentially, Chris Rowlands, from RAD Studio, brought to life, the home improvements for our 1920,s Redbrick Bungalow, that had been sitting in the 'Too Hard Basket' for at least 35 years. We'd spoken to a couple of builders with our ideas, but were not exactly sure who to trust and where to start with our renovation/extension, which was going to be quite extensive. I knew Chris form my place of work and had a casual conversation with him one day about our intentions to renovate. He offered to come and have a look at our house and have a chat. It was after this meeting we decided to get Chris involved, which was a great decision. Chris has been brilliant! He listened and made sense of our ideas which started 12 months prior to construction. We wanted to have as much planned and decided before work begun so the quotes could be reasonably accurate and hopefully minimise any extra hidden costs. Chris then completed the Design Development and Documentation Stage and guided us through tendering a builder for the job. We received quotes from three different builders and the one we chose was Chris' recommendation. This has proven to be a great choice as the whole experience has been very positive and gone quite smoothly. It is on target to be completed in the time frame quoted and on budget. Chris cares about his work and has visited the site on numerous occasions to view our projects progress. ( He reminds me of a parent watching a child grow). What he has given us is a home with a practical floor plan for our needs and a harmonious transition from the original house to the new extension, which has an amazing wow factor as you enter the north facing open plan living space. It is almost complete and we are so happy with the result. We found Chris very approachable and easy to work with. He has a high level of knowledge and professionalism and we have no hesitation recommending Rowlands Architectural Design. We can't thank Chris enough for the care and help he has given us and ultimately, the result achieved.

I first met Chris Rowlands in May 2017. I found him to be very passionate and thorough in helping me define my plans for both a renovation and extension of our current home. Chris was able to assist me in determining the style of home I wanted – a minimalist themed makeover, with bright natural lighting and lush garden views being the two primary highlights. After three months, Chris proposed a floor plan to me, which to my amazement was able to tick off most of the things on my wish-list, despite Chris not knowing my core tastes in architecture. Chris oversaw the completion of the project’s three stages (concept plan, design development/documentation, and contract administration/ design consultancy). During this time, I was thoroughly impressed by his creativity and persistence, going beyond his role as an architect and the director of RADS. As of now, we are in the process of construction, and Chris has continued to prove himself as a fantastic architect. For any future housing projects that I might have, I would definitely choose Chris again, and would strongly recommend him to anyone who is planning to start a renovation.

Rowlands Architecture Design Studio (RADS) has been hired by my wife and I to oversee a multi townhouse project in Brompton, South Australia. The property is currently classified as commercial and requires a residential classification. We had a pretty basic design of the units and the RADS team came up with some excellent suggestions and completed the final design which we are extremely happy with. RADS have been involved from the beginning of this project, their responsibilities include Council development applications, onsite meetings with Council, Independent planners, EPA processes (change of classification) and demolition of existing property. The project, as you can imagine, has had more than its fair share of problems dealing with the above authorities, Chris has managed this in a highly professional manner with his intimate knowledge and extensive connections in the industry. As with all building/construction projects, keeping within a budget is the main concern and this is also RADS priority. RADS will continue to manage this development through to completion. We highly recommend Chris and his team.

Building a house and not just a house but your home, can be a challenging but exciting time in anyone's life. My wife and I have made this journey and thanks to Chris at RADS, it was one that delivered a result we are extremely proud of. I think his ethos of maximising living space whilst still being true to his natural surroundings shines throughout our home. After initial talks to establish what we wanted, he helped us through each stage to achieve the right natural colors and textures both inside and out. On a personal level, he is a very friendly, approachable and professional individual and it was a pleasure to have worked with him during the building process. Our project was completed in November 2011. The final result? 2 x 2 storey, 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom plus cellar semi detached dwellings!

Although being in the early stages and having had to make the decision to a large renovation or a re build, Chris Rowlands was probably the most patient person I`ve ever met after previous discussions with three builders. I was so impressed, no wheeler dealing, no pie in the sky ideas costing me a fortune, it was an either or and the best way to go about it to suit MY lifestyle. This is why I am commending him as he stood out showing he was interested in my ideas and actually came up with far better ones as being in my sixties he would have to be in charge of the project from woe to go and I have the utmost faith he will do that. I have seen his designs in unusual situations (i.e. homes nestled between huge Moreton Bay Fig Trees) and am very, very impressed that he as an architect makes use of the surroundings not just flattening a block and putting up another block house with concrete all around, no trees and no lawns asap.

Chris Rowlands of RAD pushes architectural design. His distinctive style challenges the usual techniques of carpentry, and as a carpenter, I loved being involved in his high-end design project. Every aspect of the job was extremely thought out, any questions were promptly answered. Chris' attitude was transparently positive which showed his true enthusiasm and involvement in the project. The project ran smoothly, it was unique and interesting and I would highly recommend Chris Rowlands as an architect for my future building projects.

Chris Rowlands of RAD is an architect with whom I have worked with on two residential projects in Adelaide. His designs are not run-of-the-mill........anything but. They're high quality, bespoke pieces of architecture that will be highly unique in their respective environments, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sustainable. As a town planner I admire his work because he focuses on creating functional and highly livable residential developments whilst at the same time striving to maintain the highest standard of design and appearance. We used RADS for our bar refit at the start of this year.. The work carried out was very professional.. From a design let's peel rice we are extremely happy as are all of our customers that have since visited the venue.. We would highly recommend RADS..
