Modern Design Cabinetry created a beautiful updated kitchen for us. For years, my husband and I discussed remodeling the basic, worn kitchen in our 1989 house. We both bake and cook a lot. We envisioned a kitchen that was lovely and efficient. When we began researching cabinetry options, we looked for quality-built cabinetry and the option to have help with design. After our first visit to the Modern Design Cabinetry showroom, we knew Modern Design was our choice. We are delighted with the work they did for us. Nichole, one of two interior designers at Modern Design, was wonderful. She worked with us from her initial visit through the whole process. She was a great listener and a creative problem solver and offered design suggestions that seemed just right. We are very pleased with every design decision we made, including wood choice and color, accessible and abundant storage, and hardware that is a delight to see and touch. Brian, who was our project manager/draftsman, also excelled at listening and problem solving. He was a concise communicator, with attention to detail and a kind personality. Because of Nichole and Brian’s expertise, we have more accessible storage in our kitchen than we could have imagined possible. Russ and his crew were meticulous in their cabinetry installation. I appreciated their positive attitudes, thorough work, and the care they took with our existing wood floors. Everyone who worked with us, from Kristi, who greeted us at the showroom on our initial visit, to the two-person crew who carefully delivered our new cabinets and organized them on our living room floor to await installation, was an outstanding representative of Modern Design Cabinetry. We think of them with thanksgiving when we look at the beautiful cabinets they made for us. We recommend this outstanding company!

Modern Design Cabinetry built and installed a large bar, bookcases and bathroom vanity for my basement renovation. I found MDC after seeing their work on another project. Within a fews weeks they had come out to take rough measurements, discuss generally what I needed and sent me a drawing of the cabinets along with what I believe to be a very reasonable quote. I needed a cabinet built specifically for home theater equipment, a couple cabinets had large HVAC vents routed under them, a unique bar layout, and a specific door panel design. They delivered on all of it and everything was custom. Install was also smooth and the installers were able to make a few adjustments once they started. Highly recommended.

Our experience with Modern Design Cabinetry was amazing! From our first interaction with our designer through the drafting and install process everyone was so kind and accommodating. Not only is Modern Design able to add their expertise to my design ideas, but they were also willing to step outside the box for custom cabinet features that take our spaces to the next level. Modern Design was amazing to work with from the design process to install! The designer came into our home, listened to what we wanted and designed the perfect set of family room cabinets, center island and mudroom cubbies. The person who measured made several trips to the house to be sure measurements were EXACT and he was right on! The installers were professional and so great to have in our home. I know there are also many people behind the scenes that I did not meet but did amazing work. Overall, Modern is a fantastic company that prioritizes the customer and creates a quality product.

We had a wonderful experience using Modern Design for our kitchen cabinets. Everyone we worked with during the project was great! The designer was able to fine tune the drawings we came with and helped us understand how we could get the look we wanted. We had a very specific idea of what we wanted for the wood grain and stain color and the designer and drafter/project manager were able to get it all just right. We also appreciated the customizable storage and organizational options that were available. The installers were fantastic as well. Everything was so well made and installed perfectly. We are so happy that we decided to go with Modern Design for our project.

After seeing the beautiful job Modern Design did for my son, we contacted Amber to start the process of a complete kitchen remodeling project. Design to install, first class customer service. In house interior designer was very helpful with layout and selection of materials. Our project manager told us a date when the cabinets would be cut, ready for assembly and install, all dates were right as promised. Unfortunately the general contractractor was in able to meet his schedule and cabinet install had to be postponed. Modern Design was able to adjust their schedule and install as soon as the house was ready. The install crew was professional and respectfully of the materials that had been installed, hardwoods, tile and base. We could not be happier with the quality of the cabinets and the customer service we received.

Talented and creative team to reconfigure our kitchen cabinets to accommodate a new, larger refrigerator. With great care they reconfigured the area and made a new, matching cabinet above the old refrigerator and refigured the cabinetry in the adjacent area to accommodate the microwave and wall oven. From the design to the production and to the installer it was beautifully accomplished, efficiently installed, perfectly matched, and cleaned the entire area of work. I know we wouldn't have received this type of service elsewhere. When our demo didn't go quite a planned, the team at Modern Design didn't miss a beat and tweaked our cabinets for the new layout. When the countertop installers came they commented on what a great job the cabinet installers had done (Not an easy task in a 100 year old, nothing is square house.) and how easy the countertop install was because of it. Every detail was taken care of and we're thrilled with the outcome. Our new kitchen is beautiful and we are so happy with it. We are so happy we chose Modern Design and have already recommended them to others.

Thank you to the entire team at Modern Design. From the first meeting with Amber to the final design to installation I have had an excellent experience. This is the first time I have done a kitchen remodel or needed to work with a company for cabinetry/counter tops so I did not know what to expect. Modern Design set the bar high! They did a great job of understanding my space and my style to provide a design that fit me and my space. They did a great job of making suggestions to have me think about different choices that I otherwise would not have thought about. At the same time they made sure my design was a complete project. I was amazed at how well the installation went (ok...I wasn't actually home...my contractor was there...but the feedback was that it was fantastic). There was even one piece that didn't fit just right...Modern Design had it fixed yet that night so it was ready for the finish of the install the next day. Other places that could have taken a few weeks to get done right. The kitchen looks amazing and is far better than anything I could have dreamed of. I am extremely pleased with the work that Modern Design has done, it's definitely worth the price! They did my whole new construction modern house. I was amazed (and so were most of the other contractors at the job site) with the quality of materials used and the amount of time and effort put in to install the cabinetry. Fitment is perfect, which makes their job look easy, and anyone who has dealt with remodeling or construction knows it's not true. Also M.D. was able to guide me in the right direction with accessories right away (which probably saved a lot of time) due to their expertise and good selection of suppliers. My wife Deb and I had an incredible experience working with all the folks at Modern Design. With the help of Amber, the design process was actually fun and rewarding. She walked us through the process with great product knowledge, suggestions, and helpful design insight. Dave, our project manager, did an incredible job as well. The production and installation of the cabinets for our new home could not have gone more smoothly. One thing I will say is that if they make a commitment, they keep it. In the process of building out home, we have found this not to be necessarily the norm in the industry. A final note is that I felt their pricing to be excellent as well. We had compared their custom built pricing initially to that of using factory "box" cabinets and found their prices to be very competitive. This surprised me a great deal. I enjoyed the experience in working with Troy and Jo and their crew so much at Modern Design that my son and his wife used them for their remodel project as well. We came to our project with a professional kitchen design that Amber, the Modern Design Cabinetry designer, modified after listening to our ideas and needs. She did an excellent job of modifying our design to fit into our relatively small area. We were very pleased with her suggestions and help and thought she was very patient with us as we struggled making decisions. We found the workmanship in the shop and on site to be excellent. The workers were prompt and pleasant, responded to our questions and suggestions, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The project was finished right on schedule, which pleased us very much. The company was especially helpful in designing our wooden island top and the wrap for our fireplace mantle, even redoing the finishes on them to better meet our specifications. The project was reasonably over budget only because of the upgrades we chose to use.

Modern Design Cabinetry played an integral part in our new construction project in Wayzata, MN. At the end of our design process heading into ground breaking our cabinet builder decided the project was too big and decided he couldn't do the job because he was too busy. At that point our contractor wanted us to utilize their preferred manufacturer but it felt like a big box fabricator and didn't feel like a good fit. So we were in a bit of a situation when my friend told me about Modern Design Cabinetry. I went to his house to look over the product and the next day I was on the phone with John, Brian and Troy trying to figure out if they were interested in my project. From that first phone call, to the multiple design meetings, through construction, installation and punch list the Modern Design Cabinetry team was responsive, thoughtful, talented, thorough and truly a pleasure to work with. True professional craftsmen. They have great people, offer a fabulous product and I believe they give good value for the product they deliver. Now let's discuss the product. We did painted shaker inset cabinetry for kitchen, butler's pantry, fireplace built-ins, mudroom, master bath, and two guest baths. We also did stained knotty alder in the bar and another guest bath. The quality of the craftsmanship was off the charts good. Modern Design is second to none when it comes to quality. Their painted product is fabulous. Their knotty alder wood product is gorgeous. Their quality of construction is fantastic. Their options and design services are absolutely collaborative with the home owners and integrated with the fabrication and installation teams. They do a great job communicating. Their process is well thought out and they are able to execute on large projects. Modern Design Cabinetry's product is the centerpiece of our newly constructed home. They saved our project in a time of need and they gave us a great value in the price they charged. Their team and product far surpassed our expectations.

We went through Modern Design LLC to have new Cambria countertops installed in our kitchen. I was very thankful for Troy's input when he came over to measure for the estimate. Originally we had decided on black countertops, but Troy gave honest feedback, as he lives in a similar house and area, where it is quite dusty. After considering this, we changed our plan and decided on Cambria in New Haven. I am thrilled with the results! We have a copper sink and it goes perfectly with the sink and the style of our house. Modern Design also made a new cabinet for us, as we found un-utilized storage space when we took off the old countertops. They were able to match the stain, and the door looks like it's always been there. Modern Design is very client focused and easy to work with. They also have a nice showroom.

We are all about Detail and Modern design makes the grade. There service throughout the whole process is great. When i think Cabinets I ask myself, will the cabinet company stretch the creative boundaries of the space. Will they be up to date with the trends and not be afraid to suggest things that have lasting value and are accepting of my opinion. They build them as if they were building there own cabinets for there own house, and God forbid if something goes wrong there there. Modern Design designed a full kitchen, mudroom, hallway bookshelf and master vanity for our major remodel. Amber was particularly helpful in designing the perfect units for each space that we had. She was incredibly responsive, detail oriented, and creative. We own a remodeling firm and have worked with Modern Design for several years and are extremely happy with their client-focused service and high quality custom cabinetry. For this Master Bathroom job we specified frameless Euro style cabinets featuring flat slab style cabinet doors made of alder and melamine interiors. We had a dark espresso stain that they custom matched to and then finished with three coats of a catalyzed water-resistant varnish. The client's goal was to have the bathroom look like a luxurious high-end modern hotel bathroom and that was the result. Modern Design hires, trains, and retains very high quality designers, project managers, installers, office and shop personnel whose common goal is to get it right every time. This results in a positive experience for the remodeler and their clients. I endorse Modern Design and would recommend them to other remodelers.
