Jessica Nelson Design is a full-service interior design studio servicing the Seattle area. Since I was 3 years old, I knew I wanted to be a designer. I grew up surrounded by art and design; it's a part of who I am. After studying design in undergrad and graduate programs, I went into the world of fashion. Shortly after, I began designing interiors. My husband will tell you that I can’t go into a room without rearranging something or flipping switches to get the lighting just right. For better or worse, making things beautiful is what I love to do. After a long day, walking into your home should feel like a big hug. Each moment spent there is meaningful. Incorporating old and new is my favorite way to design and I believe every square inch of your home should tell a story. Designing a home can feel overwhelming. We have worked with Jessica and her team multiple times. Checkout the pictures in the "Jellabel Retreat" project on their Houzz profile for an example of one of those projects. That particular one has been featured in multiple publications and we always receive nice comments and great feedback on the design approach! Jessica is terrific to work with on all dimensions of scope, style, cost, feasibility, referrals, materials sourcing / section. An expert at what she does, every detail is covered and her deliverables are exceptional and easy to review and share with contractors / practitioners. We would recommend working with JND over and over (which we have done so multiple times since!).

I had the good fortune of moving to the same street as Jessica Nelson in 2019. When I found out she was an interior designer, I enlisted her help with my son's nursery. Jessica guides you through the design process in a way that allows you to feel involved and ensures the end product lines up with your original vision. The nursery Jessica designed quickly became my favorite room in our house and we have had Jessica help with several projects since 2019. Jessica's taste, zero-pressure personality, and her contacts in the construction industry have all made my remodeling projects stress and hassle free, which is pretty uncommon! If you want a beautifully designed house and to reduce stress associated with remodeling, JND is the way to go!

Hired her twice and that says something! We bought a 1958 rambler with a spectacular view but the amount of work it needed in the remodel was overwhelming. Jessica came in and not only took time to really listen to how we wanted the house to feel and look but made it so much better! Her ability to visualize how to use the space is invaluable. We would have never considered moving the kitchen to the view side and now its our favorite place in the house! She was easy to work with, responded to my calls and emails in a timely manner. Jessica basically took the stress out of the remodel for us. I loved how she had an opinion and was not afraid to voice it. Her artistry using color and texture and light was reflected in her design boards and brought to life in the house. She sourced products and materials and helped determine costs and also made sure the construction aligned with her designs. Our house is now everything we hoped it would be! I would hire her again in an instant.

We worked with Jess on remodeling our 1920s Tudor while living abroad (thank goodness for her patience with us!) and we could NOT have done this project without Jess, her team and Ruslan + the team at Construct Remodel. She was able to create such a unique and beautiful design from the literal jumble of inspo we gave her that has resulted in a gorgeous home that we love. We’ve worked with Jessica 3 times over the last 5 years and continue to recommend her to any friends who are considering a remodel or new build. We first hired Jessica to decorate our living room and she did such a good job that we hired her again a year later to do a remodel or our kitchen/dining/mudroom and bathroom. Jessica sourced everything and put together two different looks/selections boards for us to choose from. She sourced items I would never have been able to find myself AND stayed within budget. She also went above and beyond to coordinate with our contractor and subs and made key decisions that impacted the design that we didn’t need to stress about (trim size, light height, finish decisions, where to source cabinets, etc). Her and her team and also very timely and communicative! We didn’t hesitate at all to hire her to decorate our new home and hope to work with her many times in the future! She is so talented and we love the final output!

Jessica recently designed our primary bathroom and I could not recommend working with her more! I had an idea of what I wanted our 90's bathroom to look like and Jessica listened to my ideas, made them 10x better and executed it to be even more beautiful and functional than we could have imagined. She has cultivated a strong network of contractors and professionals who trust her and were easy to work with on our project. The communication from her and her team throughout the project was excellent and although a renovation is never stress free, they made it as seamless as possible!

She has incredible tasted which she is able to pair with the vibes and looks we are hoping for. Jessica Nelson is nothing short of a creative genius and will likely be featured as a nationally recognized interior designer in the near future. In our first experience with her, she designed the living room and the family room of our primary home. Now whenever people walk into either of these rooms in our house, they can’t decide which room is more spectacular. The family room was recently featured in an interior design magazine which we randomly stumbled across. Given our great first experience with her, we gave Jessica full autonomy to design our mountain home. She designed every feature of the house from construction to material selections, flooring, tiles, paint, furnishing, window treatments, and even the coffee table books. The house is truly a jaw dropper. The best part about it is that she will respect your vision but will push you out of your comfort zone and in the end when it all comes together, it will look far greater than anything you have ever imagined.
